Battle
The group was actively preparing for the war.
Katie barely saw anyone that day. The only things she saw were her gun and her ammo.
She sat next to Judith's crib, so that she could keep an eye on her.
The baby played happily in her crib.
"Katie can I get your help with something really quick?" Glenn asked, leaning against the cell door.
"Of course! Carol! I'm heading out for a moment. Can you keep an eye on Judith?" Katie called.
"You got it!" Carol yelled back with a smile, military grade rifle in her hand.
Glenn led Katie outside to a group of walkers at the fence.
"What are we doing?" Katie asked.
"I just need your help," Glenn said.
"That's not an answer," Katie said, aggravated.
He walked in front of a walker and pulled off her finger.
"Glenn?" Katie asked.
He wiped off the ring that was on the walker's finger.
"Do you think she'll like it?" Glenn asked.
He was visibly nervous.
"She'll love it!" Katie said, smiling.
"I brought you out here because you guys have the same sized hands and fingers. Can you put it on really quick so that I know it will fit?" Glenn asked nervously.
Katie slipped the ring on her finger.
It was a perfect fit.
"Does this make me Mrs. Pizza King?" Katie asked sarcastically.
Glenn laughed.
"Maybe you'll be Mrs. Grimes," Glenn mumbled under his breath.
Katie barely heard him.
"What did you just say?" Katie asked, raising her eyebrows.
"Nothing," Glenn said quickly, tensing up.
"Oh don't worry. I heard you," Katie snapped.
"I uh I-I. Maggie told me," Glenn admitted.
Glenn couldn't lie even to save his life. Even if it meant ratting out his almost fiancé to his best friend.
"I figured," Katie rolled her eyes and laughed.
"You better not tell anyone else. I know where you sleep," Katie threatened.
"I just hope we keep sleeping here for a while," Glenn sighed.
"We will. We're going to win. I'm not going to lose this place," Katie said firmly.
