Later that afternoon, Katie came back home from Deanna's.

Rick was packing up his gear.

"Going somewhere?" Katie asked, hands on her hips.

"Deanna wants me to take Pete out into the woods," Rick said.

"Okay. Who's going with you?" Katie asked.

"I was thinking that I would take Morgan," Rick said.

"Are you sure that's a good idea?" Katie asked, slightly concerned.

"We'll see," Rick replied.

"I don't know how I feel about you running off into the woods alone with a man who just hopped off the crazy train," Katie said.

"I can handle myself," Rick assured her.

"Can he?" Katie asked, eyebrows raised.

"We will be back before you know it," Rick said, taking a step closer to her.

Her hands were still on her hips. He picked them up and folded them within his own.

Katie sighed.

"I'll be just fine," Rick said.

"I don't trust him," Katie said.

"I do," Rick said.

"How? You don't know this man anymore. He isn't the same person that you met on your first day in this world. He's different now. Change isn't always a good thing," Katie said.

Rick sighed.

"I know that I can't stop you from going. I just need to know that you understand the risks," Katie said with a sigh.

"I understand perfectly, Katie. You don't have to worry about me," Rick said, still holding her hands.

"Too late," Katie said softly.

Rick kissed her goodbye quickly and grabbed his gear off the counter.

Katie stood on the porch and watched him get into the car and drive away.

She walked back inside the house to the sound of Judith crying in her crib.

Katie ran up the stairs and made her way into the nursery.

"Come here sweetheart. Yeah, you're okay," Katie said to the baby, picking her up.

"Mama. Mama," Judith cooed, reaching up to Katie.

"We have got to teach you some new words before your daddy starts to get jealous," Katie laughed.

She carried her downstairs and placed her in her high chair.
