Finding

Katie woke up in the house with Judith.

She packed up the supplies that she would need to make a run into town.

She still needed to find baby supplies if she was going to keep Judith alive.

She picked up Judith and started off towards the town.

The little house was about three miles outside of the nearest town.

It took her a couple of hours to walk there.

"This would have been a lot easier if the Governor hadn't blown up my damn Mercedes," Katie muttered, thinking about her car.

It was the last part of her old life that she had and now it was gone forever-- just like the woman she used to be.

Judith cooed.

"What? You think that's funny, Judith?" Katie said, laughing at the baby.

Katie searched the town for any kind of store that might have what she needed.

"Babies R Us. Sounds promising." Katie said aloud.

She walked inside the store.

It still had tons of supplies.

Not many people thought to raid this place.

Katie grabbed a Baby Bjorn carrier. This would make it easier for Katie to carry around the baby.

She strapped Judith into it.

"That's so much better. Isn't it Judith?" Katie said.

She continued to search the store for bottles, formula, baby food and baby clothes.

She shoved all of these things into her backpack.

The baby food isle had been mostly cleared out.

They only had one flavor left, but they had about thirty cans of that one flavor.

"I hope you like meatloaf because that's all they've got, Judy," Katie sighed.

Katie left the store with a full backpack.

She had trouble getting it all back to the little house.

She took another inventory of their supplies.

"I think we're going to be okay, Judith. We're going to make it," Katie said with a gentle smile.

She laid down on the floor next to Judith.

She thought about Rick and about Carl and about Maggie and about Glenn.

As she drifted to sleep she could see them all smiling back at her.

The sight soothed her into a deep sleep.
