Sisters
Katie leaned silently against the doorframe, smiling at the scene in front of her.
Sasha, Maggie, Jesus and Enid all stood in a trailer house laughing with each other. None of them had taken notice of Katie's arrival.
Seeing them made Katie feel more at peace. She was slowly broken out her psychopathic state.
"Y'all really need to get a better security system. All I had to do was bat my eyes and the gates swung right open," Katie teased, breaking up the conversation the four were having.
All of their faces broke into wide smiles when they saw Katie standing in the doorway.
"Cal did mention once or twice that he thought you were hot. He was always afraid your husband would pop out of thin air and kill him if he said it too loud," Jesus teased from the corner.
Katie clenched her jaw when he mentioned Rick.
Maggie and Sasha got up quickly and ran to Katie, wrapping her in a tight group hug.
"Ah, and the unholy trinity is back together again," Katie said with a smile.
"Really? The unholy trinity? Pretty ironic you're hanging out with me," Jesus said, laughing hysterically in the corner.
Katie rolled her eyes playfully.
"Did you find strength and calming?" Jesus asked, raising one eyebrow, referencing the flower he left in the truck.
"No, but I'm here trying to find it," Katie replied.
"What's going on? What are you doing here? Where's Rick?" Maggie asked.
"I just needed to get away. I'm ready to fight. I'm ready to take down the saviors. Not everyone else is," Katie sighed.
"Where's Rick?" Sasha repeated, knowing that Katie had purposely left out an answer to Maggie's last question.
"Uhm- uh- Rick and I are taking a break. And I think he wants that break to be permanent," Katie said, trying to hold herself together.
"I'll give you ladies a minute. I have someone I need to go check on," Jesus said, exiting the room.
"What happened?" Maggie asked, horrified.
"Did he find out about your miscarriage?" Sasha asked.
Katie's eyes widened at her and Maggie's neck whipped around to look at Sasha.
"How did you know?" Maggie and Katie asked in unison.
"Maggie talks in her sleep. It's usually just rambling about how worried she is about you," Sasha said to Katie.
