Alissa POV
Following the directions, I arrived at a tall building covered in glass. I parked my car along the side before walking across the street to the front doors of the building.
Before I could even reach the front handle the door was opened me by a man dressed in uniform.
"Thank You." I smiled before walking in.
This place was huge, the floor was made what seemed like marble and there was a huge chandelier dangling above.
I looked around till I saw what seemed like a receptionist, I walked toward her desk and waited for her to finally notice me.
"Can I help you?" She said without even looking at me.
"I'm here for an audition, my agent's name is Peter." I answered.
"Take the elevator to the top floor." She replied still typing away at whatever she was doing on her computer.
"What's the door number?" I asked, she wasn't being very helpful and it was starting to get on my nerves.
"You will know, trust me." She answers, finally looking at me, clearly she was just as annoyed as me.
I sighed as I made my way to the elevator, I clicked the 23rd button which seemed to be the top floor. The elevator was made completely out of mirrors. I looked at my reflection, double checking that I looked okay. I was lucky that elevator didn't stop once allowing someone else to enter.
Once I reached the top floor, I realized what the receptionist meant by "you will know", there was only one door on this whole floor.
There were two large wooden doors, with golden handles. I took another deep breath, trying to calm down my now racing heart. I turned the handle slowly before opening the door.
When I opened it, I ended being in the middle of a room full other potential auditions. Everyone was seated on the black leather couches, while a couple people were walking around with clipboards telling others what to do.
This place looked extremely professional, and I started to feel more out of place.
"Hello Alissa." Peter said when he noticed me standing there, "you ready for your audition?".
"Yeah." I replied feeling nervous.
"Good, they will be ready for you in 10 minutes, why don't you sit down and just run through your lines." He said smiling
I sat down on one the black couches next to this other girl who was in complete focus of her script as she was highlighting and making notes all over her script.
I pulled my script out of my black shoulder bag. I read through some of the lines that Peter told me to audition with, till Peter came back and announced they were ready for me.
I followed him down a white hallway into a room that had a huge wall to wall window overlooking the LA beach. In the middle of the room there was a dark mahogany table where a lady and a man sat dressed in dress clothes. They both had a binder and pen ready in front of them.
"Alissa, this is the director of the movie," He said introducing me to the mid-age man in with dark black hair and light brown eyes. "And this the producer." He added signaling to the younger blonde haired lady sitting next to him.
"Hello." I said pushing back my nerves and shaking their hands with a big smile.
"What's your name sweetie?' The lady asked.
I couldn't get over the fact that the man was staring at me like we had met before, even though I swear I had never seen his face before.
"Alissa.." I answered the lady being a little hesitant.
"And you last name?" She asked me writing everything down.
"Malik." I answered after a pause.
"I thought I recognized you." The man said clearing his throat.
The producer looked over at him with a odd look.
"She's Zayn's sister, the boy from the band One Direction. You've been on the news quite a lot recently, you're dating Harry Styles as well, am I right?" He announced leaning forward on the table and putting his hands together.
I threw Peter a panicked look.
"Yeah, that's me." I answer, suddenly feeling ten times more nervous now.
"Oh, well..." The lady started looking over at Peter and raising an eyebrow. "We were kind of looking for someone new to the public's eye. I'm sure you understand the risk of casting someone who's already related to someone famous, for reasons such as others find it as unfair, and it can lead to a movie not being as big as a success." She finished.
I felt like running out of this room right now, but my determination to prove to them that I deserved to be here, let me be able to stand tall in front of them.
Peter came to my defense, "She's got what we are looking for though, look wise especially for this character. And she has some experience coming from a arts high school, and taking some drama classes in university." Peter said handing a portfolio he had made for me earlier this week.
"I agree, she should at least get a fair chance at an audition." The man said smiling at me.
"Ok, good luck then Alissa." The lady said picking her pen up.
