Heads I Win, Tales You Lose.
Last night was amazing, at least from what I remember. Doing shots, kissing Max, Drinking some more, dancing to Marilyn Manson… yeah I can faintly remember Max and I dancing to that. I think I was singing This Is the New Shit. Fuck my fucking life. Then I remember Ronnie coming up laughing, Max steadied me again, and then we all went upstairs. There were a few guys and another girl up there, one of them had a bag of white powder… cocaine maybe? I don’t remember much after that. I was way too drunk.
“What did we do last night, Max?” I looked horrified. Max just looked at Ronnie, who answered some unspoken question with a nod of his head.
“Alcohol. Lots of alcohol.” He shrugged as he lied back down on the bed.
“Nobody remembers sex, though? I’m a bit shirtless as you can see…” I said covering my boobs.
“Yeah, you are. But I distinctly remember you stealing my bottle of Smirnoff and mixing it with some other beer, Corona maybe, and telling me that you could down both in 15 seconds. It was funny. I said if you couldn’t then you had to take your shirt off and dance on the table. You lost.” Max said laughing. Ronnie just looked at the floor.
I walked into my closet and threw on a bra and an Iron Maiden T-shirt. It’s just the first thing I picked up. Walking back out I saw the guys were ready to leave.
“Best part was that you fell off the table onto Robert.” Max grinned.
“We have practice today.” Ronnie got up and checked his cell phone.
“So, Siggah, you have got to come party with us again sometime. You’re a riot, dude.” Max got up too.
“And what did you think of our band?” Ronnie asked, looking for probably his car keys.
I thought for a second and remembered when I saw them at the bar the other day and when they played last night. They were fucking fantastic, and nobody can deny that. “Love it. I’m probably just going to quit my job and be your groupie now. If that’s okay with you, you know. And obviously we’d get to drink all the fucking time.” I laughed. “Kind of like last night, minus the stealing your liquor and table dancing.”
“Glad you had fun.” Ronnie emphasized that last part and Max glared at him. “Glad you like the band.”
“I think our friend’s uncle owns this Epitaph Company. A lot of people say shit like this, though. We don’t expect much. I’m just hoping someone can pull through for us because we love what we do. Escape The Fate is our life, and we all love music.” Max said with the most adorable face on.
“That’s all that matters. Happiness. Don’t forget it.” I looked at Max, and Max at me. For a brief moment we just stood there and stared at each other, until Ronnie cleared his throat. I laughed and smiled again.
I think that’s the moment I realized that I had a thing for Max. Ronnie’s a great buddy, a cute one at that, but Max is just amazing. End of story. Like whenever I see him I have to smile. Like last night we realized we both loved Marilyn Manson, Nine Inch Nails, and even Mickey Avalon. And the fact that he’s so passionate about music is really cool, because I love music too. I may not play the bass for a kick ass band, but I can still love music. But most of all I think he gets it. The point of live, in living, is happiness. He doesn’t care, as I am recalling from last night, that cocaine is bad for him. It makes him happy, so fuck everything else. He loves music, so he’s in a band trying everything to make it work, because it makes him happy.
In the midst of my reminiscing last night, and my love-struck thoughts, Max and Ronnie both hugged me goodbye. Ronnie licked the side of my face like the immature little kid he really is deep down, and Max squeezed me much too tight. I am so happy I met these people, I have a feeling my life is going to be so much better with them in it. They guys walked out of my crappy little apartment and I shut the door behind them.
