While we are riding, we suddenly hear an awful shriek. Jared stops the horse and we cover our ears. It lasts for about five minutes. The whole world shakes. Once the shriek ceases, Jared says,
"What was that? It felt like my head was gonna split in half."
"I don't know. But I have a bad feeling." I say, "Keep riding. We can't stop now."
"Ok."
He makes the horse run faster. We decided to travel during the night anyways so we didn't get much sleep. I'm tired, but it doesn't matter. All that matters is finding out what and where that shriek is. All I can think about is Seth. I hope he is ok...I know that the shriek was not a good thing. I hope I'm wrong, but I think that was Eclipsa. Who else could make that big of a shriek?
"Hey, Jared," I say, "Do you think that shriek was Eclipsa?"
"Maybe." He says without turning around. "But let's get real answers."
"Fine. Whatever you say."
I just hope we make it in time. I wonder what's really going on...

Rick paced back and forth across an empty room. His heart was racing and his leg was hurting. But that was all he could do from going insane from tension. He had been pacing for two hours. So far, nothing had changed. He was trying to keep a cool head, but he failed miserably. Many people thought he was a demented freak but they didn't bother him. They could tell that he should be left alone. What he didn't realize, was that blood was running down his leg from a big cut he got. But all he was thinking about was Seth and Firefly. It all happened so fast. He could hardly remember how it all happened.
He tried to find Rosemary but she was busy with patients. She was now the official "nurse." So now he was stuck in an empty room. His mind was racing at a hundred miles an hour. He knew that something was wrong, other than the fact that Seth was hurt really bad and Firefly was unconscious. Something just didn't feel right to him. He had a bad feeling that something was going to go horribly wrong. Finally, his leg hurt him so bad that he had to sit down. He looked down and saw that his leg was covered in blood. He lifted his pant leg and saw the huge cut that he had. He could not find a nurse or healer anywhere. They were all busy with people that were dying. Like Seth...he thought miserably.
What was he going to tell Chloe? He knew how much Seth meant to her. When she found out, she would either cry or get really mad. He didn't want either to happen, but that was out of his control. So he sat on the couch that was in the room for hours. He was too tired to get up and walk around. He fell asleep after awhile.
Rick woke up in the same quiet room the he'd been in for the past few hours. He had no idea what time it was or how long he had been asleep. He tried to get up but his leg hurt too much. Great, he thought bitterly, now I'm hurt too. Let's just add Rick to the list shall we?
He looked around, without leaving the couch, for a first aid kit. He saw one on a shelf that was very far away. He wasn't going to try to get up and walk again. It hurt him too much. I ain't a wuss, but I don't wanna risk hurting myself even more, he thought.
He didn't know how long it took, but before he knew it, Chloe and Jared rushed into the room he was in. They both looked scared and angry. They all made eye contact. They knew something was wrong. How could he tell them now?

As soon as we entered the castle, I knew something was wrong. There were injured and sick people everywhere. Jared and I raced to find Rick. When we did, he was pale and bleeding. At first, all we could do was stare at each other. Then Jared spoke,
