"Who are those clowns?" I hiss.

"Scientists." Jared whispers back. "They like to use us as test subjects. I've been itching to slice them to bits for ages." He clenches his fists.

"If you can use this, I'll let you do the honors." I hand him one of my swords.

Jared takes it. "Thanks."

We wait for them to stop talking. It takes a while. But, once they're done talking, there's a clanking sound, like metal hitting glass. What were they doing, cooking? Should we kill them? But why would we kill a bunch of whack-job scientists?

"Should we--?" I begin.

"Whatever it takes. They know where a map is. Watch and learn." Jared whispers.

Watch and learn what? How to kill people? I already know how to do that, thank you very much. "What are you--?"

Jared turns to me. "You'll see. Don't follow me unless something bad happens."

He walks into the lab. At first, the scientists are stunned and are saying he should be in his cell. Then glass shatters. Just before an alarm can sound, we hear people being thrown to the ground.

A few seconds later, Jared says to us, "It's all good now."

Firefly and I walk in slowly, considering the fact that there's glass on the floor. The scientists are on the ground. I'm not sure if they're dead, but there is blood splattered everywhere. Jared has my sword to one scientist's throat. He looks calm about it, though. He doesn't have that burning anger that Rick has. Or so it seems, anyway.

I decide to ignore that for now. We make our way over to Jared. So he's a fighter, too? That's good. The more fighters we have, the better. But I can't ignore the fact that I just met the guy. He's been helpful, but our mission isn't over yet.

"And this guy is gonna help how?" I ask.

We're standing in front of the scientist. He doesn't look scared. That's rather insulting, considering the way we spooked the guards that remain. I mean, we came in without a trace and we killed all those guards. I heard something about ghosts, bandits from another dimension, and a bunch of other crazy theories. The bandits idea was pretty close.

"He's gonna tell us where a map is." Jared's words are like ice.

"He doesn't look like he wants to talk. Maybe we should just kill him the slow, painful way." I suggest.

Jared catches on quick. "Yeah, you're right. Maybe we should."

The scientist looks scared now. "Who are you? What are you doing here?"

I get up in his face, "That's none of your concern, buddy. Tell us what we need to know, or taste my sword." The tip of my blade touches his throat.

He sings like a canary. He tells us everything: where to go, how to get there, what we'll need to do. Wow, these nerds aren't very good at keeping secrets. It's a good thing they don't work for the FBI. They would fail utterly. They can't take a threat. They're too weak.

Anyways, Jared finds some knockout pills and the scientist is out like a light in minutes. Jared also made him take some memory pills. (They erase your memory of recent events. He won't remember us.)

We do exactly as the scientist told us. But, in the back of my mind, I'm thinking: this could be a trap. He could be tricking us. We need to get back to the cellar. Then again, the scientist guy was more than willing to give up valuable information to save his skin. What a wuss. I, on the other hand, would have challenged the intruders rather than give up something that important that I know. Anyways, we found ourselves in a giant room full of guards, army-looking people, scientists, technicians, and more. How could we take out all of these people without being noticed? Better yet, how would we find a map? I look closer. They're examining a giant map. A map of the castle. We may have just caught another break.
