Dimension Travelers

Chapter 13

Firefly told me all there is to know about Her. Her name is Eclipsa. How appropriate...She is half shadow and half woman. She's extremely potent and doesn't like people trying to defy her will. She has killed many people or has turned them into shadows as punishment. We have to stop Her.

In my cell, I try to break free, though nothing has worked. I'm hoping that Seth will come soon. I hope he isn't hurt or anything. After an hour of trying to break free, I sit down; I'm exhausted. I look all around. The people here are all staring at me.

"It's impossible to get out of here." A voice says. "I've been here longer than anyone else. There's no defeating Her anytime soon."

"Where are you? Who are you?" I ask. I try not to show that I'm scared.

A person appears behind me. It's an older man. He has gray hair and looks at me with sad eyes. "There's no gettin' out, Miss."

"There's always a way out." I tell him.

"You'll learn. You'll learn."

He then disappears into the Shadows.

I look at the force field and imagine myself standing outside, across the river. When I open my eyes, I'm there. It worked! Even the force field can't stop me from teleporting! I look all around. I focus on Seth.

Where are you? I need to find you. Please Seth...please answer me...I wait for a few seconds.

He says: Are you ok? What happened? How'd you get out?

I teleported out. Show me where you are.

He sends me a picture of where he is. Then, I imagine that I have wings. In seconds, I have white wings on my back. I fly to where Seth is by concentrating on him. I'm finally with him again, but he has company...

All of a sudden, I hear Chloe's voice in my head asking me where I am. I tell her and then she lands right there, next to me. She makes her wings disappear. Firefly is still there, but then she disappears into the field as soon as Chloe appears.

"Chloe?" I say.

"Seth!" She runs into me and gives me a hug.

I hug her back. It's so good to have her back...We just stand there for a while. It almost sounds like she's crying, but I know better than to ask.

She lets go of me.

"What happened to you?" I see the cuts on her arms.

"A shower of glass." She says.

I look closely at her and see that she's paler than usual. "Come on. Get inside. You too, Firefly." I say.

"Who?" Chloe asks me.

"Come on, Firefly. It's Chloe. You know, the girl I was talking about." I say.

Firefly comes out of the Shadows. "How did you get here?" She asks Chloe.

"We'll talk about this inside. Let's go." I say.

We all walk into "my" hut. By this time, Rick is awake.

Firefly sits on a chair next to Rick. Chloe sits down on my bed and I sit down next to her. I see just how bad her wounds are, but before I can say anything, she notices my arm.

"Seth, what happened to you?" She asks me.

"Oh, that...it's nothing, really." I lie.

"Are you freaking kidding me? It's the whole reason we're here!" Rick says.

Chloe glares at me.

"I'm fine, ok? You're the one who needs help." I say.

"Seth, I'm fine."

"No, you're not. I don't know about you, but I see a lot of cuts. And you're paler than usual, too."

"I'm with Seth." Rick says.

"There's an herb that can heal her wounds." Firefly says. "I can get it for you."

"Um, sure. That'd be great." I say.

Firefly gets up and leaves.

"What now?" Chloe asks.

"No clue." Rick says.

"Now we need to get out of here." I say.
