We avoid slipping on glass and look for anything useful. Then a guard--actually, a whole pack of them--comes charging at us. Seth throws the smoke screens at them. We run and break into the next lab. We break the glass, knock out the scientists, and the test subjects run free. A few people thank us and some ask what we're doing here. We just say that we're here to help.
Once all the labs are shattered, we find Rick and Firefly. They are currently fighting the guy in charge of the "command center." We run over to them.
But, just before we get there, Seth says, "You were good back there."
"We're not done yet." I reply.
"Better hurry. Alarms are startin' to sound."
We run faster and join the fight. Seth takes out three guards with one shot of his bow. He put it up then morphs into a saber tooth tiger, so I morph into a white tiger. We growl and hiss. The guards are totally thrown off; they haven't seen animals like this before. With one swipe of my paw, I kill two guards. (Well, they look dead.) I don't know for sure.
Rick and Firefly barely notice us. Seth and I keep attacking. But more guards come faster than we can kill them. I roar and some back off. (I think I made one guy pee his pants.) I run towards them and pounce. I knock three down. I claw them to bits. Then I see one guy pull a gun that was aimed at Seth. I quickly pounce on him just as he fires. The bullet bounces off the ceiling and hits some soldier. Then, one guy who look like the commander, steps in. Everyone stops to look at him. He has long, black hair and is extremely muscular.
"Everyone leave. Except the intruders." The man says.
All the soldiers leave. Rick kills the guys he's fighting and turns to the "commander." Seth and I morph back into our human selves. We unsheathe our weapons. We don't do anything. We wait for the perfect moment to attack. I glance at Firefly. She shakes her head ever so slightly. She doesn't know who this dude is. That isn't a good thing.
"So, you think you can kill all of my soldiers and I won't notice?" the man asks.
"I didn't think you were that stupid. Maybe dumb, but not stupid. There's a difference." I say.
"I know you're not from here." The man says, "My lady, Eclipsa, will be pleased to kill you."
"And we'll be pleased to kill you." Rick says.
The man laughs. "Oh please. You're just four kids."
"Four kids that have taken down eight towers, two squadrons of soldiers, all your scientists, and a few guards to spare." Seth says.
"All of which I find somewhat impressive. But you can't take me on." The man says.
Within milliseconds, he has my hands behind my back. My weapons are on the floor. I struggle to get free, but he just kicks me. How'd he do that? Is he part shadow too? He's strong...almost too strong.
"Let go of me, you freak!" I yell.
"Or what?" The man retorts. "Are you going to bite me?"
"I don't think you'd taste very good. I mean, it's not like you actually bathe, right?"
The man tightens his grip on my wrists.
"Ow!" I say.
"Don't wiggle so much."
You asked for it, punk. I morph into a cheetah and he lets go of me. I bite his leg so hard that blood covers my mouth in seconds. The man cries out in pain.
I send Seth a thought: Don't morph into anything. They can't know both of us have the same power.
He nods.
