I watch on terror as Seth falls to the ground. There is a small pool of blood around him. Rick is watching, clearly confused on what to do. My head is pounding like it has been used as a bowling ball. My whole body feels like Jell-O.
Eclipsa is breathing like she has just run a marathon. Her leg is bleeding badly and her hair is a mess. There is nothing that I can do, and Rick seems to be paralyzed.
Eclipsa says, "You shall pay for that! I'll kill you!"
"D-dream on." His head falls to the ground.
"Ha! You're too weak! I'll kill you here and-"
He's so weak that he might die! My heartbeat quickens and I can't think straight. How did any of this happen? All I can say is,
"Seth! No!"
He doesn't respond.
Suddenly, Janhara shows up and finishes Eclipsa off. Her roar shakes the whole room Janhara turns towards us and becomes a human. Her hair is white with black stripes and her skin is white. Her nails look like claws. She's wearing a white dress that looks like it's made of snow. Her eyes are bright blue now.
"Who the heck is that?" Rick asks me as he helps me up.
"It's um..."
My knees give way and I fall to the ground. My headache has gotten worse. I can't move or speak. I feel like crap. I can no longer control my own body. It feels as if I have been injected with anesthesia.
"Chloe!" Rick kneels down, "Are you ok?"
I groan. I can't hold myself up. I fall on my side. Hope that answers your question. He puts his hand on my forehead. He turns to Janhara.
"Who're you? Can you help Chloe?" He asks hurriedly.
"I am Janhara, goddess of the northern desert. And yes, I'll help Chloe." Her voice sounds so calm, as if this is no big deal.
She kneels down. She places something around my neck. It's a necklace. It has a crescent moon with a star next to it. As I stare at it, it glows. My whole body glows with it. Once the glow dies down, my headache subsides and I feel like I have just had a Thanksgiving meal.
I slowly sit up. Rick and I make eye contact. I can see the worry in his eyes. Janhara walks over to Seth and kneels next to him. She touches him and he glows blue. His wounds close up. Rick and I stare in amazement. For a moment, there is silence.
"That was a close one." Rick says.
I snap out of my daze and rush over to Seth. He opens his eyes and stares at me. I stroke his hair. I was so worried about him. I thought that he was going to die. He's gonna be ok. It's all gonna be ok. I repeat that to myself just so I know this is all real and not a dream.
"Hey Seth. How do you feel?" I ask him.
He sits up. "Better. Much better."
"Don't ever try that again."
He smiles. "Ok. I won't."
I wrap my arms around him. I hold on tight to him. I refuse to let him die on me. The tears fall silently. I refuse to lose him that easily. I don't want his death to be on my head. After a few seconds he says,
"I'm sorry that I scared you. But Eclipsa was gonna kill you. I couldn't let that happen."
"I know, and I forgive you. I was never mad. Just don't ever do that again."
"I won't. I promise."
"You better not die on me. You got that?"
He laughs. "Ok. I won't. I'll make sure of it."
