CHAPTER 1

‘’I’m going home.’’ I say, brushing some pespirations off my forehead. It’s been midnight, as usual. I always finish my works at midnights, my schedule is so full and there is hardly a day off.

‘’Bye, Luna.’’ Says Olivia as she waves her hand, leaving too. Probably she is the only one friend in my world, considering the state of me always being alone. Me and Olivia ourselves don’t make a really tight friendship, all I know is she is having one profession like I do and that’s it. She’s the only one I familiarly know in my working place. Besides my boss, of course.

I only raise one of my thumbs up. After all, I’m still so tired.

I grab my camera and hand it on my neck. I pack my backpack and set it off to my back. I start to walk home, considering that there is no bus in a midnight time like this.

‘’Shit! It’s raining.’’ I curse as I feel a few drops of water falling to my hand. I quickly cover my camera with my hands, preventing it to be wetted by the falling water from the sky.

I can’t think anything more clearer. My backpack is already full from a lot of stuffs, and there’s no way I can put my camera inside my dark blue backpack. In such a panic state I eventually decide to insert the camera, into my shirt.

‘’Damn!’’ I groan. I insert my camera from the collar of my shirt. I look like a pregnant girl. Abnormal pregnant girl.

I cover my head with my backpack. It’s going to be wet but I have no other choice rather than doing that. I don’t want to be sick since I have to work again tomorrow.

I quickly run to the direction of my house. Well it’s not my house, I can’t afford to buy a house, so I’m just renting a house to live. All of my hard works as a photography all this time hasn’t been able to afford me to buy a house. It’s hard, but I still have to be patient.

I immediately unlock the door and come inside my house, forgetting to open my shoes first. Damn, it leaves some dirty stains from the wet street. You’re so damn genius Luna, now you’re going to work twice.

My fingers dip down to the inner part of my shirt, releasing my camera out. To my luck the lens is OK. I’ve never thought of anything else, if it is affiliated with my camera. I’ll always prioritize my camera first, since it’s the only one treasure I actually know and have in my whole life.

I sigh and put my camera to my living room table. I let go the semi-heavy dark blue backpack to the sofa, not wanting to feel tired anymore. I take another careful look to my camera and make sure that everything is still stable, still normal.

Just as I’m about to test the abnormality of my camera, I hear my phone rings. Feeling slightly upset, I put my camera back to the table and groan. Who the hell is brave enough to call me at the most tiring time for my life- midnight?

I’m about to take back my curse as I see the name attached. Great, it’s him. Mr. Fred is calling me as usual. Okay, boss.

‘’Hello?’’ I ask, halfly sighing. I’m tired.

‘’Hello, Ms. Strittle. I’m sorry to bother you but I’m afraid you’ll have to fly to NYC in three more hours.’’

‘’What?’’ I spontaneously speak. I look at the clock, it’s showing that it’s 12 A.M in the morning now. I’m shot back to reality, and I speak again to Mr. Fred. ‘’Sorry, I mean, yes, I’ll take it as a yes.’’

‘’Good. I’m sorry to bother you okay? I’m so sorry..’’ Mr. Fred apologizes. I laugh at my boss’ funny deeds, he mustn’t feel very sorry since this is my job too.

‘’That’s fine!’’ I say, letting out another laugh. He then continues his words.

‘’Make sure you bring your best clothes. Just bring the best ones.. We wouldn’t want to disappoint them.’’

‘’What? Them?’’ I ask. ‘’Who are going to be photographed tomorrow, Sir?’’

‘’One Direction. You know, that biggest boyband in the world.’’

I roll my eyes. Call me a nerd but I don’t really pay attention on celebrities all around the world, even though I photograph them a lot. I go back to the call, ‘’Oh, I’m sorry but I don’t know.’’

‘’That’s ok, but you should really do the best. I even choose you to photoshoot them because you know, you’re the best photographer here.’’ I smile hearing a compliment from my boss. We finish doing some briefings before I finally end the call up and go immediately to pack my stuffs.

Great. NYC. One Direction. What’s the big deal?
