Chapter 3- Memories

It was late in the morning when I woke up after a dreamless night . It was the first time after coming to the city that I had slept peacefully without Sam popping up in my dreams.

Groggily I sat upright on the bed and glanced at the tiny clock perched on the bedside table. It came as a surprise when I realized I had slept for nearly ten hours and I hastily got off the bed to brush my teeth.

I was looking forward to attend my college unlike the previous day and was also eager to know what others spoke about me since I hadn't bothered to start a conversation with anyone.

The previous night Chloe had been blabbering excitedly about her boyfriend- Luke's arrival this morning who had gone hiking with his friends for the past few days.
And since I couldn't spot her right now I guessed she must be busy hooking up with him .

I walked down the aisle searching for Jeff all the while listening to the whispers around me and aware of the stares that I received.

I paused beside a brunette who was  nearly as tall as me. I recognized her from the previous day .She was the one I sat beside an whole hour without uttering a word.

Determined to create a good impression about me , " Hello" I said softly."I'm Leah Clearwater .I didn't have a chance to introduce myself yesterday."

Her almond shaped brown eyes blinked as she took in me. " I'm Nicole" she said smiling up at me.

"Um...I'm having a little trouble with the timetable" I said hesitantly withdrawing it from my bag. It was a lie. I had learnt the timetable by heart with just a glance at it but I couldn't find another way to approach someone.

I didn't want to be the same old silent, ill-tempered , harsh Leah anymore.
" Not to worry" she said looking down at it. " We have the same class "

Together we walked past the others toward our first class .

"Stop " I called out all of a sudden. 

"What are you doing?"I asked as she was about to open one of the doors in the corridor.

" I left my bag in here" she said confused .

I didn't have to stress myself eavesdropping in order to know what was going on inside the room. My werewolf senses were just enough to let me hear the whispers in any nook and corner of the college just as clearly .

" I wouldn't go in there " I said smiling smugly. 

Still looking at me curiously she opened the door and I heard the sound of a plugger being withdrawn from the sink and a gasp. 

I covered  my mouth with my hand to hide my smile as I looked at Nicole .

She stepped back to make way for the couple who rushed out.
" Gross "she muttered under her breadth
" How did you know ?" She asked retrieving her bag from the room.
I merely shrugged and walked beside her.

After two periods, I walked into the cafeteria and noticed Chloe sitting alone in one of the tables by the corner. I went to sit beside her and she smiled when she saw me coming.

"Where's Luke ?"
She jerked her chin up turning her head to the side and I followed her gaze .Two guys were walking towards our table.
"Maybe I should ..." I stammered feeling awkward and getting up.
" Its fine ,stay. He's bringing his friend too"

" Isn't he great ?" Chloe asked abruptly after a few seconds.

I hadn't been paying attention to Luke. I kept glancing up at the tall boy beside him.
