Chapter 7 - Indecision

"You look pale" I said taking a seat beside Chloe in the cafeteria which was almost empty .

"I'm confused. Its a lot to take in and ...-" Chloe choked shivering lightly.

"Its OK " I said putting my arms around her and rubbing her shoulders .

"I don't know what to do and I have really very little time left " she whispered.

"What do you mean ?"
Surely human teenage problems can't be as serious as mine- which was mostly about life and death.

"Luke is leaving for Atlanta and I have no clue on when he might come back or even if he would ever come back !!"

I internally thanked god for the good news and I suddenly felt guilty as it upset Chloe this much.

"Um...I'm sure you guys can keep in touch " I assured knowing it already that it might not workout.

It was too obvious Luke didn't love Chloe in fact I doubted even Chloe loved him at all. she seemed too confused about everything and ended up with the world's biggest bloke .

"Its not it " Chloe uttered.

"Then ?" I prompted curious now. What else could there be ?

"He invited me to live in with him " she announced and I gaped .
"Whoa...that's -"
"I know" she cut me off ."I couldn't believe it either "
"I was gonna say 'not gonna happen'"
She looked up at me questioningly .

"Don't tell me your considering his words seriously. That bloke - never mind ...I don't think its the right thing for you guys . All I see is you snogging around and nothing else ."

"You don't like him " she noted .

"I'm not saying ....well yeah I don't like him . Remember that day  when we were almost got busted at the Quinault rainforest  for camping at the prohibited area? He just disappeared to save his skin and cared not the least about the rest of us. "

"He was scared .That's all."

"So were we . But you can't deny that he lied the other day when he said he was hanging out with a bunch of his friends but Jeff  swore he saw him hooking up with some other girl ."

"Jeff might have been lying .I know about him more than you do "

"But Jeff told it to me and not-"
"He knew you would pass on the message" Chloe spoke confidently.

"Fine. Forget all that .Can you tell me why you guys jumped to this conclusion in the first place ?if you think he's good for you why don't you ask him to give you some time ....maybe after a few years or atleast a few months ..." I trailed away when I saw her expression.

"He's going this week" she whispered "its now or never "

"Alright " I said taking a deep breadth ."Do you wanna stay with him all alone in an unknown city with no one but him ?"

"I don't know .That's what scares me most . I don't think I can bear if he leaves me. I wish my mom were here to tell me on what to do .I miss her ." with that a single tear rolled off her cheek.

I could only hold her close and whisper everything was gonna be alright but I couldn't help her with her inner agony though I knew perfectly well how it felt to loose a parent .

It happened two years ago.Dusk had fallen by the time I had returned back home after a long walk at the beach .No sooner than a few words were exchanged across the dining table, a argument had aroused.

Now that I recall the incident, I could remember everything about that night except for our reason for the arguments which seems so silly now .

I knew I had been avoiding everyone ever since I found out Sam had ditched me for Emily .I hadn't known the reason then and I was lashing out  the anger at everyone I set my eyes on .
