Jacob drove my car while I slumped against the seat abreast him brooding on why I hadn't brought my work home . After slogging away as a trainee accountant for several years , I was lucky enough to bag a job in one of the best banks in Carson city. I hoped they thought I was worth my salt and would not hire an outside accountant to go over our books by the time I return.

Jacob made a turn and I recognized the familiar path that lead to the Cullen's home. I waited for a few seconds to be sure about it before questioning him.

"Seriously, the Cullens ?"I asked incredulously . If he thought meeting the vampires would be a good idea , then I might have to hit him with a hefty thwack which not to mention I was quite good at.

"I want you to meet someone special"he said smiling.

"Renesmee" I guessed.

"She'll be waiting by the Cullens' garage."

"I'm surprised they still stay here. Is that not sceptical?"

Jacob sighed heavily ." Carlisle can barely pass for thirty but he's claiming forty. They are planning to start all over soon but you know what that means" His voice was barely a whisper.

"Renesmee's leaving with them!" I read the thoughts that plagued him.

"Yes"he hissed.

"What is it like-"I asked getting off the point"-to have Edward in your head?"

Edward was Renesmee's dad who had the ability to read other's thoughts and Jacob was no exception. I pondered on how he managed to keep his thoughts straight in Edward's presence.

I watched him press his lips tightly ."Its hard not to think about Nessie with him around "he admitted and his face flushed with embarrassment. I cracked a smile.

We were almost there and the building came into view. I perceived Renesmee sitting on an yellow Porsche watching Jacob halt the car by the garage. She hopped down and danced her way towards us so very elegantly that seemed almost inhuman.

Jacob picked her and kissed her full on the mouth and her long bronze curls swayed in the passing breeze . Once he set her back to her feet, both looked at me ardently.

"This is Leah- one of my best friends' " he introduced me to her. I raised an eyebrow at him when he said the word 'best-friend' . I smiled at her warmly before giving a light hug. "Nice to finally meet to you Renesmee"

"Just Nessie . "she said withdrawing."That's what everyone I know calls me"

"Okay" I said tugging my hair behind my ear .

"Don't just stand there. C'mon in " She took my hand in hers and started towards the building. I looked alarmingly at Jacob who gave a encouraging nod like I wasn't just entering a house filled with vampires. The stink had already begun to burn my nose and getting closer to them would only make it worse.

The first time I had set foot in their home was to tongue-lash at Bella and I was pretty surprised when Edward hadn't kicked me off immediately .

"Re-Nessie" I came to a standstill holding her back before she could open the door." I'm not sure that would be a good idea" I said pointing at the door." Can't we go somewhere else?" I asked warily knowing that the eight vampires in the house could clearly hear me.

"Leah, calm down. I know you weren't in good terms with my family once and trust me your reason was valid but I have a good felling about this now"

"What makes you say so?You don't know me"

"Oh. I think I do"she said and I took a quick look at Jacob who was trying not to smile. Some joke!
