Chapter 44 - Jealous

"They are so gonna regret this after I'm through with them ." I said grinding my teeth .

"Seth and Jacob?Nah!That's not fair ! I should get some credit too .I put my back to dig into the roots of this whole werewo-"

"No! Don't say the word ." I cut him off .

He gave a cynical laugh ,obviously not puzzling out my emotions.

"It feels embarrassing ."I admitted , my head hung low with humiliation.

"Chin up!" he ordered with a blithe disregard for my words.

"How are you so cool about this whole thing ?How are you able to stomach that your girlfriend is ... is something inhuman ?"

He remained silent for a whole minute while  sweat oozing thoughts brought a turmoil in my head .

"Do you wanna know what exactly I felt when I knew all the stories you fed me were after all true ? Curious on what I felt when I unearthed the tiniest of the facts you were hiding ?"

I should have known better than that, that he was  a nosy-parker . And now all I could do was bite my lip , fearing the reply I could foretell. Crossing my fingers on my lap , I nodded my head gravely for him to resume.

He opened his mouth .Here, we go...

"I felt ...jealous !"

My jaw dropped. My head almost snapped when I looked at him sharply. My intertwined fingers fell apart .

Of all the feelings he might have felt , he was ...jealous!??!! Jealous?!?!

"What-did-you-say? " I whispered .

"There no way you're making me admit that again"

"Alright! " I raised my hands up and gave a brief pause and started again. "Why the hell would you feel jea-"

"No, don't say it loud .Its embarrassing as it is. "

I had to be the one to vocalize that but he was simply turning the tables .

Somehow it made the situation light and maybe funny too.

"How long have you known about me? "

"Since a while ."

I raised my eyebrow ." How long exactly? "

"Around  a year and a half .."

"That long ?" I mumbled.He shrugged."And also you were jealous because...?"

"Uh! You're not gonna drop that , are you ? "He huffed.  "Anyways, here's the thing-I thought you were the boring and run-of-the-mill type , but then I realized you were the cooler one of the two of us with all powers and stuff .Turns out you are the height of a voguish and a sexy chic !"

"Powers ? I have no clue on what Seth and Jacob have been feeding you , but let me clarify , I do not possess any..any  supernatural powers !"

"So, you don't turn into a ferocious , sexy werewolf as and when you want ?"

"A werewolf - yes but ferocious and sexy ? Definitely not !"I said rolling my eyes.

"Also, I heard you were the fastest in your... pack ?

"Hmm...yeah?"

"And when these ...um va- vampires enter your territory , you have the moment of your life, hunting them down and slicing their body to bits.

" Er..something of the sort but I'm currently off duty since a while and also I'm sure I definitely didn't have the moment of my life fighting them .It's a matter of life and death ."
