Luca had left after saying that. He didn't leave the cabin, just the room. He didn't say so much as a word he just took off. There was something odd that was going on with him, he seemed slightly out of sorts.
Outside it was almost the end of the late afternoon. The sunset would be gone in half an hour and the night would emerge. For the past 15 minutes since his exit I had been sitting on the couch quietly. There was nothing to do. After coping with my boredom I had made the decision to do a little bit of exploring.

I sprung off the couch to my feet and examined my surroundings. There weren't any photos, any clues about Luca's personal life. There were just white walls. Pressed against one of those walls was a bookshelf. I walked over and ran my fingers over the thick organic covers of the books. They were obviously old.
I wrapped my fingers around a random book and pulled it off the shelf. The gold lettering was striking against the emerald green face of the book.

"Lycanthropy for the Eager Learner"

I flipped through the pages. They were old and starched. The letters were small thick and black. The general gist of the book was Lycanthropy, as a disease, which was slightly different to being a full-on Lycan.
Lycanthrope's lived their normal everyday lives. Most of them worked 9 to 5 jobs and got payed average wages. They weren't born wolves like us Lycan's. Their version of wolf-hood is more like a cold or a period. Returning once a month to wreck havoc. Lycanthrope's couldn't control their forms and had painful transformations.
However, it is possible for someone who is turned into a werewolf to control their form. It's all about how the first full moon after Lycanthropy is introduced to to an individuals body. I wasn't very sure on how to prevent the creation of a lycanthrope, so after flipping through numerous pages of moon charts and werewolf anatomy, I placed the book on the coffee table in front of the couch to read later.

I turned away from the book case and I found myself gazing intently upon the door to my right. I crept towards it. I wrapped my hand around the cold brass doorknob. Unsure of whether or not I should proceed. What was behind the door? Would it unlock Luca's dark past or would it be a storage cupboard? Who could say?
I made the decision to open to door. What was the harm? Yeah, there could have been a dead body behind it. Yeah that may have been likely at this point. At least I would know there was a dead body. I spun the doorknob.
The door gave and swung open, to reveal a hallway. Surprising, I noted. I stepped into the hallway only to see three more doors. I opened one, and stared into a plain bathroom. Practical.
It wasn't the most interesting room. I closed the door and took a step back.
I turned and began to move down the hallway. The next door was a dark wooden one. I opened it.
The room was dark. I stepped inside of it. Closing the door behind me. My hand pressed against the wall reaching for a light switch. After 30 seconds of unsuccessful fiddling I finally hit the switch, the room before me lit up with bright white light.
It wasn't what I had expected. It was what seemed to be a nursery. A white cradle was pushed against a wall, next to it was a white rocking chair. On the wall was a mounted porcelain deer head. The walls were decorated with smalls decals of the moon and stars. I walked around the room. A white wooden dresser stood high. On top were a few picture frames. I looked at the nearest one.
In it was a smiling woman with warm hazel eyes and dark brown hair. She had a pretty smile and a heart shaped face. She was heavily pregnant in the photograph. Wearing a long white dress which reached her ankles. She stood in the middle of a field, with the sun rising in the distance.
There was another picture of the woman. She looked more tiredness her hair was tied back into a ponytail and in her arms was a little boy with Black Curls and striking blue eyes. He was pressed against her chest, half asleep.
Another one was just the little boy. His hair almost covered his forehead and was curly. The little boy was fiddling with what looked like a bowl of Froot Loops. He had an angry look on his little face. In fact that angry look was familiar.
