I woke up not to the sound of birds, nor to sunlight beaming through my window. I woke up in a cold sweat, shivering.
I couldn't breathe.
My throat was closing up, restricting my breathing. It felt like someone was choking me.
I stared up at the ceiling of my bedroom, figures were starting to take shape from the darkness. No, not figures, my ceiling looked like a fuzzy tv screen.
I rolled over, glancing at Luca. He was sound asleep, all I could hear was the quiet sound of his breathing. His breathing was nonexistent compared to he labored and constricted noises which were escaping me.
I needed to get out.
I felt something horrible rise up in my stomach. I felt like I was going to be sick. Carefully, I stood, wrapping my arms around my chest.
Nimbly, I hopped over Luca's sleeping figure onto the floor. My feet hit the ground softly, giving off nothing but a dull thud.
I reached around, searching for a shirt. My hands gripped a mass of dark fabric, it probably wasn't mine.
I didn't care.
I pulled the shirt on, over my head, it fell past my hips, almost halfway down my thighs. I could feel if brushing my skin. However, instead of cotton, all I could feel were knives pinching against my skin, ripping it to shreds.
I wrapped my hands around the doorway, holding it tightly. I pulled it, stepping into the hallway.
The hallway was dark. The light was off. That wasn't the problem, I'd navigated these hallways many times in the dark.
The problem was that I was probably going to empty the contents of my stomach before I even made it to the bathroom.
I ran through the hallway, almost tripping over my own feet. Somehow, by a stroke of luck I managed to keep everything inside of me.
I ran towards the door, my hands wrapped around the handle, flinging it over.
I made a beeline.
I threw my self over the bowl of the toilet, my stomach wretched bringing up the Chinese food. I could feel it burning through my mouth, from the back of my throat to the top of my tongue.
I shut my eyes, hot tears began to form, I could feel my face getting hot, flushing with redness.
My stomach wasn't done with me yet. I could feel it flip flop, anything wave was coming.
Put it came.
I'd never been so sick. Not once in my life.
This was strange. Eery almost.
Panic shot up. I never threw up. Very seldom did I find myself keeled over.
I was at a loss.
I heard a soft knock at the door.
I let out a groan, I wanted to be left alone right now. I god honestly did. I didn't want anyone to see me like this.
"I'm coming in whether you like it or not!"
Great. It was Luca's voice. He was going to walk in and see me on the floor hunched over, spewing my guts out.
I heard the soft sound of the door handle, the door swung open revealing Luca.
He stared down at me, a look of pity was noticeable. His eyes ran over me, as if he was attempting to comprehend what in the hell he was seeing.
I didn't know what he was seeing either.
