After half an hour of confessions Luca had downed his second bottle of beer, he had opened up a third leaving one beer remaining. Mitch had brought out some Vodka from dad's liquor cabinet, it sat on the table opened. The boys were taking swigs, they'd downed at least half of the bottle between them.
"Your turn" Claude slurred, he pointed weakly at me.
I shrugged, there weren't any burning questions that I wanted to know the answer to.
"Pass" I said, eyeing the bottle of vodka warily.
Claude groaned. We were running out of questions to ask.
I fixed my eyes on Mitch, a cunning smile was plastered all over his face. He looked like the joker.
"I've got one" Mitch said, he reached forward, placing his elbows on top of his knees.
"Good for you" I said, giving Mitch a sarcastic eye roll.
"I hope you choke" Mitch said, smiling through gritted teeth.
"Doubt it" I said, "I bet you were crying when I was gone, I bet you cried like a damn baby"
Mitch brushed his hair off of his forehead. "Of course I did, I missed our little squabbles sis"
"You were inconsolable" Claude said flatly "You were like Van Gough, near the end of his life"
I fixed my lips into a joking pout, I reached forward, punching Mitch on the shoulder.
"You missed me?" I said, the pout transformed into a smirk.
"Hey!-" Mitch exclaimed, in protest to my shoulder punch. "I was nowhere as bad as lover boy over there"
I turned towards Luca, he was giving Mitch a bored stare. Luca was obviously unimpressed by being referred to as 'lover boy'.
I stared at him, brows raised.
I was interested to know what he had been like. What he had done over all of those months. I wanted to know what had happened. Also, I was slightly worried about what he might've done. What he would do if, and I hope it didn't, something like this happened again.
He reached towards me, wrapping his fingers around my wrist. His eyes closed and I could hear a heavy sigh escape from his chest. He kept holding on, his grip got tighter and tighter.
"What....What did you do when I was....-"
"I didn't do enough" Luca confessed.
I scrunched my brows together. I didn't agree with that statement.
"What do you mean?" I said
"I kind of...let's just say that I spiraled out of control." Luca said, letting out a breathy sigh. "I hadn't been like that since...well, since my dad died"
I got the feeling that he didn't want to elaborate which I didn't think it was fair, considering that I'd told him a decent amount about my recent ordeal.
Maybe it was Mitch and Claude's presence, however I doubted that. They'd experienced it first hand, or at least that's what it seemed like.
I scrunched my words together. Maybe it would be best to ask later.
Screw that.
"What do you mean by 'spiraled out of control'?" I said, my brows raised.
"It's not important-"
"Obviously it is" I said "You can tell me, I'm not a child"
"Well" Mitch interrupted "you are seventeen..."
