To say that Andrea James hated me from the second she met me would be an understatement. Andrea despised me from the second she saw me, and I was almost certain that she didn't care who knew.

Andrea was the most striking out of the siblings. She happened to be the oldest one of them. She arrived on the steps of the house at 5:00 precisely. Her hair was cut into a chin length bob, the edges of her hair were sharp, almost knifelike. She was delicately pretty, her face resembled a porcelain doll. She looked the most like Luca out of all of the sisters. They had the same sharp eyes, eyes that were constantly plotting the demise of their opposition.

Andrea's opposition was me.

She had arrived around 3:00, when I was out training with Claude. I walked through the door, covered in sweat and what would be bruises tomorrow morning.

Not only that, I happened to walk right into her.

It really showed how lucky I was.

I walked right into her, my sweaty body dirtied her 300 dollar Prada dress which clothed her athletic body. After backing off and apologizing, she stared at me as if she had stepped on a piece of chewing gum with a pair of Kate Spade heels.

I didn't go to high school, but I'd seen Mean Girls plenty of times, I knew that Andrea James was a mean girl.

Currently, I was sitting as far away from her as possible, in the room that I was temporarily sharing with Luca. I was engrossing myself into a book. A rather...interesting book which seemed to be about witches and vampires and what they do in the night.

I was curled in a pile of blankets. Carefully, I pulled my blankets up to my chin. Unfortunately it was freezing, and getting wood for the fireplace would mean passing though the hallways and probably crossing paths with Andrea.

The door swung open and instinctively I closed the book. Luca leaned in the doorway. His tall drama cast a shadow in the room.

"Hey" he said simply. "How was training"

I scrunched my nose. He was being far too pleasant. Something must have been up.

"What do you want?" I asked. I grit my teeth.

Luca sauntered over to me, he deposited a bright blue file into my lap. The file was overwhelmingly large, and it was as heavy as a pile of bricks, which meant that I would have bruised thighs tomorrow.

Luca sat on the bed, staring me down, intensely. He did everything intensely, it was rather annoying.

"What is this?" I said. I ran my fingers over the side of the file, passing every page beneath my hands.

"Everything you need to know about Max Lim" Luca said

Ah, yes. The mysterious Max Lim who I had seen at the Gathering. I could see his face clearly in my mind, his silver hair and cold eyes. I didn't know what to make of his appearance at the time. Still, I didn't know why this would be relevant unless....

"You think he's behind what's been happening in the woods?" I said

Luca nodded, he was doing something odd. I only had just noticed it. He wasn't meeting my eyes. He wasn't even looking at me. Instead he was tapping his fingers on his knee in some kind of organized pattern as if he were playing a song.

In fact. His movements were far to organized to me random. I watched his slender pale fingers move quickly, delicately. They moved as if they were a spider, creating an intricate web.

"What are you doing with your hand?" I said

He looked at me confusedly, before stopping his hands altogether.
