It was a 30 minute drive and I was sat in the back of Luca's car. He manned the wheel, and the radio too. Which meant that we were listening to the sound of silence and not the one by Simon and Garfunkel. Hayes has called shotgun which was why I was next to the dead wolf.
Yes, I did just say dead wolf.Last night a few lower members of Luca's pack were on patrol when they'd stumbled across it. He was a werewolf, obviously. That was evident from its immense size. The only problem was the thing wouldn't turn back to its original form. Some sort of magical bonding preventing us from finding out who he was.
It stankSo I did what anyone in my situation would do.
I complained.I'd whined, screamed and made sarcastic comments. Until we'd pulled into the driveway of my house. Luca was the first person out of the car. I could hear the loud muffled slam of the door.
"Let's go" he commands.
Both Hayes and I get out of the car. Except Hayes makes his way to the drivers seat.
"You have two hours" Luca says to Hayes
Hayes nods at him and reverses, soon he is gone and all that's left is the low rumbling of an engine in the distance.
Nothing's changed about my house since I've been gone. It's still a two story Victorian style house. It still had a slightly cracked window and a red door. The only thing that was different was the atmosphere. I could sense something was wrong before I climbed the steps. Nevertheless I knocked on the door.
Luca stood behind me awkwardly. I could understand it. What the hell was he going to say anyway? Hi, I'm Luca. I'm your daughters mate and I kind of kidnapped her for a week or two, nice to meet you sir!Knowing my father he wouldn't be that fazed. When your daughter is the biological version of a werewolf nuke you get used to weird things happening.
It wasn't my father who Luca should have been worried about. It was Mitchell. Mitchell would fight Luca any-day. Mitchell had beat up a kid for looking at me funny. Despite Mitchell's stature and quiet nature he was 6 feet of pure unadulterated violence.
After about a minute I heard a few thuds, footsteps. The door swung open, and standing behind it was none other than Mitchell. He looked tired. His dark brown hair was a mess and underneath his eyes were dark circles which stuck out against his pale skin. He had a scowl plastered across his face which quickly changed to a smile as soon as he realized it was me.
"Melody!?" He said, his voice was an octave higher than usual. Most likely from the shock.
Some of the girls who got taken by their mates never returned home. Even so, Luca should have sent someone....."Mitch" I said as if everything were normal.
His happiness to see me was soon gone.
"What the hell did I tell you!" He said
"Don't do anything stupid" I said through clenched teeth.
I knew this would be his reaction, he must've been worried off his ass about me.
"And what did you do??" He said "you decide to go out alone, with no way to reach you."
I looked at my feet. Mitch was right, maybe leaving in a fit of rage wasn't my best idea.
"Where's dad?" I said
