"You know," Austin begins after we're told our flight will be landing shortly "You're more than welcome to stay with me, you don't have to find somewhere else to stay" He says, grabbing my hand in his, and pressing a light kiss to my knuckles.
"You've done enough for me, I don't want to burden you" I shake my head lightly.
"Baby, you the furthest from being a burden. I like being close to you, and I like having you around me" He kisses my knuckles again "I don't mind you staying with me, I'd rather know where you are and have you be safe than have you in a house with him"
"I just, I don't want to live so close to him" I admit, and he looks at me sympathetically, which makes me look away.
"Then we can find somewhere else to live" He says after a short silence, and I look back up at him. He places his hand on my cheek, his thumb sliding along my cheekbone "We can get a place together, just the two of us. I made some money during college tutoring every once in a while and I can get a job here, come on Baby"
"Austin, I don't know" I shake my head slowly, and he leans his forehead on my shoulder, kissing my jaw.
"At least stay with me until you make up your mind" He says "That's all I ask"
"Okay" I nod. When we land, I take off my seatbelt, and grab my suit case when we land "I have a question" I speak up as we walk off the plane, he looks at me and nods, as if telling me to ask my question "Where's your car? I figured we'd drive back"
"Alex asked to borrow it when he comes back, he had a final after me"
"Alex goes to school with you?" I ask, and he slides his hand into mine as he nods.
"Yeah, he just started not too long ago"
"Oh okay" I nod, and he smiles, kissing my temple. We walk out of the airport, and he pulls me in the opposite direction I was going to walk. We walk up to a car, and Austin takes my suitcase, and puts it in the trunk as I awkwardly stand beside the car.
"You can get in Baby" He chuckles, and I climb into the backseat while he gets into the front "Hi mom" He smiles, and she smiles back before looking at me in the rear view mirror "Oh, mom, that's Griffin, Griffin this is my mom" He says, giving me a cute smile when he looks back at me.
"Nice to meet you" She says sweetly.
"You too" I smile, and she drives away from the airport.
"Mom, is it okay if Griffin stays with us or a while" Austin asks, and I awkwardly look out of the window.
                              "What for?"
"I'm not really sure she'd want me to say" Austin shakes his head, and I silently thank him.
"Sure, but no funny business" She points a stern finger at him.
"No promises" He teases and his mom smacks his chest playfully. We soon pull up to his house, and his mom motions for me to follow her. We walk inside of the house and she leads me upstairs to an empty room.
"You can stay in here, or 'stay' in here" She wiggles her eyebrows the second time she says stay, and I giggle "Um, you can put your stuff in here, and I already know you and Austin are together so you can stay with him, but let's keep the funny business to a minimum" She teases and I laugh quietly.
"Thanks for the help with the luggage" Austin huffs out, dropping all the bags in the hall outside of the door.
"Sorry" I shrug, and he rolls his eyes, stepping into the room, and wrapping his arms around me from behind, his chin resting on my shoulder.
"I'll go make you guys something to eat" His mom smiles before leaving the room.
"I hope you know, you're not staying in here, you're staying in my room" He chuckles into my ear.
"I have to get my other stuff from my house" I sigh.
                              "When?"
                              "I don't know, soon" I shrug "I don't want to"
"I'll go with you, Baby" He tells me, and I nod.
"I don't want to go today though" I shake my head, turning around in his arms, and wrapping my arms around his waist. He kisses my forehead and hugs me tighter, whispering about how much he loves me.
"The food is ready" Michele yells from downstairs, and Austin reluctantly lets me go, the two of us walking downstairs to the kitchen.
"What'd you make mom?" Austin asks.
"Why don't you look for yourself?" She rolls her eyes, and I laugh before sitting down at the table.
"Oh, sweet. Grilled cheese!" Austin cheers, grabbing two plates and walking over to me, handing me one before sitting beside me. He places his hand on my thigh as he eats, and I can't even focus on eating, as I do nothing but feel his hand. When he's done, he slides his plate away and looks at me, kissing my cheek.
I finish my grilled cheese shortly after, grabbing Austin and I's plate and walking them to the sink. I turn on the water to wash them off, but freeze when I look up, seeing straight through the window of my house, meeting eyes with my father. My breathing quickens, and he smirks at me, waving at me.
"Baby, what's-" Austin places his hand on my hip before following where I'm looking "Is that him?" He asks.
"Y-yeah" I nod, taking a step away from Austin, causing his hand to fall from my hip. I walk away from the sink, running up the steps into the guest room. I lay down in bed, and stare blankly at the wall.
"Baby" Austin says quietly as he opens the door. He walks towards me, and I sit up, backing against the wall. He frowns when I shy away from his hand that reaches out towards me, shaking my head.
"I have to go" I frantically get out if bed.
"Griffin, no" He grabs my wrist.
"Don't touch me!" I yell, and he retracts his hand.
"Please Griffin, don't do this to me. Not again" He shakes his head.
"I need to leave" I mumble, walking out of the room and down the steps. I wrap my arms around myself as I walk out of the front door, walking down the street.
I pull my phone from my pocket and scroll through my contacts until I find the one I want "Hello?"
                              "Hey, you busy?"
"Not at all, come on over"
I hang up the phone and make my way to the place, knocking lightly on the door "Griffin, good to see you" Matt smiles.
[A/N: Who remembers this sly devil😏]
"You too" I say, and he lets me into his house.
"My moms not home" He says, and I nod, following him up the steps.
"Let's have some fun" He chuckles, pulling out a small bag filled with white powder and a bottle of pills "Pick your poison" He chuckles, and I grab the pill bottle. I take a couple out, and walk to his mini fridge to grab a bottle of vodka.
I take the pills, washing them out with vodka and screw the cap back on the bottle, sitting down on Matts bed. He chuckles and spreads the white powder out on a board "So, what brings you here?" He asks, and I shrug.
"I just needed to take my mind off a few things" I shrug, and he nods with a smirk.
                              "Fair enough"
