a/n: I was getting pissed off with doing my homework, so I decided to update. This is a chapter I've been waiting to write since this story started and I'm super ready and I hope you all like it because if not, then shit...
:austin:
"I miss you" She mumbles into the phone, and I bite my lip.
"I know you do" I sigh "But, this was what was best, and you know that" I tell her, and she sighs.
"I just don't get it"
"I don't expect you to" I shake my head, running a hand through my hair. A knock at my door breaks me from my thoughts, and I look at my door "I'll talk to you later, someone's at my door"
"Okay, you'll call me back right? We need to talk about this" She says.
"I don't know, Cass. I'll figure it out" I hang up the phone. I plug my phone back in and Move my books off my lap, keeping my pencil in my book so I can find the page I was studying from.
I hope off my bed and walk towards the door, opening it. My jaw drops slightly, as I see a sobbing Griffin standing outside of my door. Without speaking a word, she wraps her arms around my waist, her head against my chest.
"Baby, what happened?" I ask, she doesn't respond, just lets out a sob and I run my fingers through her hair, kissing the top of her head "Griffey, please talk to me" I whisper. I pull away slightly to let her into my room, shutting the door behind us.
"Come here" I lead her to my bed, picking her up to sit her down. She vigorously wipes at her eyes, trying to rid herself of the tears, but nothing works.
"Baby, what happened?" I ask again, wrapping my arms around her and kissing her forehead "I hate seeing you cry" I wipe under her eyes, removing her glasses that I never see her wear to keep them out of the way.
"They're letting my dad out of prison" She chokes out, and my stomach drops "He's supposed to have life in prison! He's not supposed to come back, he's supposed to stay there but they're letting him out" She sobs "And the worst part is my mother is letting him come back! She's letting that man back in with open arms as if nothing happened! As if what he did never happened" She screams through her cries and my heart clenches at how upset she is.
"Oh, Baby" I pull her into my lap, running my fingers through her hair "I'm so sorry, I'm so fucking sorry" I kiss her forehead.
"I don't know what to do" She shakes her head, and I kiss her forehead.
"I don't know either, but we're going to figure it out" I tell her "Here, take a nap" I lay her down, pulling a blanket over her "Do you want me to get you food for when you wake up?" I ask, but she shakes her head.
"I already ate"
"Now, that's a lie" I roll my eyes playfully "We both know you hate airplane food" I chuckle "I'm going to get you something, take a nap. I'll be here" I kiss her cheek.
"I'm sorry for coming here" She says, and I take her hand in mine, kissing the back of it.
"Don't apologize at all, I'm glad you came here, and you can stay here as long as you want" I smile "Now go to bed, Baby Bean"
"Hmm, I missed that" She mumbles quietly, closing her eyes.
"I missed you" I mumble back, moving to sit at my desk, continuing my studying. I highlight my notes, keeping an eye on the time. Griffin's naps usually take about an hour and a half and so far it's been an hour. I tell myself fifteen more minutes before I get Griffin food, that way it'll be warm when she gets it.
