The ride back to Vegas seemed to fly as we crossed the state line. Knowing I would be first off the RV I had my things ready and waiting.
"So.. What do you think?" Aaron asked sitting on the RV couch beside me.
"About?"
"Us.. The crew." He held out his hands gesturing to everything around us.
"Well I've had more than a few teething pains.." I sighed looking back at the bedroom door.
"Ah, to hell with him. He's always grumpy lately. Look I know you didn't exactly have a good time but you will consider everything right? I mean.. The locations are a bit risky and dirty but my dashing good looks and winning charm evens it out right?" He asked making me laugh.
"You're right. Hey next time, I'm bunking in with you."
"Sure thing.. You two argue again?" He asked.
"Huh. When haven't we?"
"He's not a horrible guy Red, just gotta get used to his personality."
I scoffed "Does he have one? The man's a complete grunt."
He rubbed the beanie from his head and looked to the door to make sure Zak hadn't appeared. "How much do you know about him?" He asked.
"Enough."
"Like?"
"Like the dude has a thing for getting his own way, likes to think he's in control all the time. Has no consid-"
"So not a lot." Aaron replied making me stop. "I'm not saying this because I'm his friend, but don't judge him too quickly. He's a pretty nice guy when you get to know him. Fiercely independent, but if you need a man in your corner.. He's the guy you want."
"You put a lot of faith in him."
"Got to, I've known the guy 8 years." He smiled.
Recognising the area, I knew we weren't far from my house, I held the laptop tighter to me pondering on what to do. "You gonna be a better person and bury the hatchet?" Aaron asked.
"He's probably asleep."
"Won't know unless you go check." He pushed. I gave him an unimpressed look before heading back to the room. I gave the door a knock before entering.
Poking my head in I found Zak sat on the bed with his laptop on his knees. "Hi."
He turned his eyes away from me and back to the screen. "Talking to me now then are we? Last 3 stops I've been invisible." He spoke.
I chewed my lip and looked back down the RV noticing Aaron giving me a supportive thumbs up. Yeah, it's going great dude.. I'm gonna end up getting one last ass chew.
"I've sent you the photos.. Through email."
"I've noticed."
"Just pick which ones and I'll se-"
"I'll send them." Zak interrupted. I nodded my head and looked around the room.
"Aaron says.. Aaron says I shouldn't be so quick to judge you." I started walking in the small room a little more.
"You shouldn't. What people say about me isn't always true.." Zak replied.
"What about what Aaron says?" I challenged.
"Well that's based on what Aaron says.. Isn't it?"
"Are you okay? I mean- after the lockdown? I never thought to ask."
