The next few hours seemed to go in a blur, after meeting Jennifer's fiancé, Andrew, I was given the low down on the wedding itinerary. This wedding was big, so big I was beginning to doubt myself and if I would be able to get all the shots I had visioned in my head.
Some I may compromise on...
I almost took Jim off his feet again when he arrived, my stress levels went down a little knowing a familiar face and knowing that he wasn't all fancy..
Unlike this whole hotel.
A part of me wished Zak had stayed, at least I'd have company at all times, someone who could keep and hold a conversation, so could Jim but he had his family and I was the added extra.. It was awkward. I had Justin for company and that was not company I wanted to keep.
We were sat down for dinner, having ate little all day I looked forward to some fine dining. However I forgot that fine dining also meant small food portions and I was a chicken bone from caveman survival skills when the plates arrived.
I almost called the waiter back asking if this was Stuart Little size. But everyone else at the table began eating and enjoying their food. I ate slowly, trying to stop myself scoffing it down quickly. I also prayed my stomach didn't decide to complain from the ever growing black hole.
There was a small flood of conversation on the table which I listened to, sometimes I could contribute and other times I simply sat back and listened. To an outsider? We looked like a happy family, a family I could never be part of.
"Nobody told me you were invited." Justin grunted beside me.
"Your sister needed a photographer, I was more than happy to help." I replied looking over at him.
He hadn't changed from the trimmed mousy brown hair and green eyes. He still wore an expression on his face, as if the world was on his shoulders. It still amazed me how he was so different now than from when we first met. I guess every man has a charm that wears off after a while...
"Couldn't you find someone else? Or are you here to make tomorrow about you?" He asked cutting his food.
I bit back my reply not wanting to give him the satisfaction of winding me up so quick. That's all he wanted. To make me look an idiot in front of everyone.
"So tell me, I've been dying to know! How did you and Zak meet?" Jennifer asked smiling at me.
"Oh yes.. How did you meet Mr Perfect?" Justin chirped up.
"We work together." I answered forgetting the part that we are strictly colleagues, maybe even friends but that was it.
"I heard business and pleasure doesn't mix." Justin jibed.
"I guess we are an exception." I retaliated before popping a bit of food in my mouth to end the conversation.
"Well I think you are both adorable. Make a cute couple. How long have you known each other?" Jen asked ignoring Justin's earlier comment.
"Just over a month." I admitted.
"And you're already sleeping with him. Got over being frosty knickers then." Justin interrupted causing Jim to shoot him a look.
"Oh ignore him, he's just upset that Betty isn't coming until tomorrow morning. Little Jussie has to sleep alone." Jennifer teased making him glare at her.
"Zak huh?" Jim spoke making me look over at him. He knew Zak from the last time I went to his house, he knew myself and Zak had difficulties getting on. This would be when my lies would unravel...
