Okay...
Okay now stop being so damn nervous. You know who's beyond this door, you've shared a bed with him. You've slapped him, shouted and slept on him.
Why am I nervous?
I chided myself as I walked up the drive slowly, looking back at my car wondering if he'd seen me yet and if I could run back to my car and take off cancelling.
I'm a chicken shit.
Am I underdressed? Probably overdressed in this damn heat!
I looked up at the sun wishing for a break but the sky was clear from clouds which meant today was a scorcher all day.
It had took me nearly an hour to decide whether to wear shorts or not. They came higher than I expected and figured they would be inappropriate, so I wore jeans instead.
Knocking on the front door I waited and sure enough the welcoming bark got louder until I could see Gracie behind the frosted glass. I grinned and tapped the window gently making her lick the window like crazy trying to get at my hand.
"Who is Gray? Is it Robyn? You like Robyn don't you?" He asked as he unlocked the door and opened it.
I wasn't prepared..
I seriously wasn't prepared as Gracie leapt on me taking me down on the floor with her.
"Gracie!" Zak shot taking her collar giving me a chance to breath and laugh hard.
"Hey baby girl!" I chooed ruffling her fur as she barked happily.
"When you came over... What did you do to her?" He asked amused as she bounced around making Zak jolt left to right.
"She loves attention. Gets it from her dad." I teased taking his outstretched hand.
I was pulled up on my feet quickly, thanking him, I dusted off my butt and picked up my bag.
"Hey..." Zak smiled picking up a piece of my hair "Brown hair is back..."
I gave a little smile "Yeah, I fancied getting back to my roots. Like it?"
"Love it. You look lovely, come in." He smiled letting Gracie go and inviting me in.
"Thank you." I blushed stepping into the cool air. "Lovely and cool in here."
"Gracie loves the sun, not much a fan of the heat, she's been in the pool most of the morning."
"I can imagine, it's a little cruel to take her up red rock in this though..." I replied as we walked through his house.
"Yeah, I thought the same but if you're okay with it? I'd like to take her to the park? It's got grass and trees so there's plenty of shade for her."
