"You go first." Zak whispered passing the keys into my hands.
With him by my side I made my way up the path slowly and unlocked the door. I knew better than to expect everything to be the same, but a small part of me hoped.
I pushed the door open and stepped inside looking at how much the place had changed from the last time I had been here. However my heart warmed seeing the same tall fireplace in the lounge, the logs stacked neatly in the alcove of the wall.
I walked over and touched the top of the fireplace, feeling the oak under my hand I smiled. "Are you okay?" Zak asked quietly.
"I always wanted to touch this wood.. My dad would place his hand on it, said it made him feel like a king. He owned the land."
Zak smiled listening "I always told him to stop being silly." I added.
"I wish I could have met them.."
I took a small breath as my hand dropped away "I can't believe I would forget something like that. Like this place." I replied looking around me.
"You didn't have an easy up bringing.."
"This place, it was special to my parents. I should have remembered this place if any place in the world."
"Don't beat yourself up on this."
I went over and sat on the window seat "I used to sit here and eat my breakfast, kicked off a fuss when I couldn't." I smiled slightly.
"Stubborn even as a little girl."
Silence fell around the room before I looked at Zak.
"How did you find this place?"
"Oh, well uh.. The Internet went at home. The laptop wouldn't load anything else for a while and I just had this place on my screen, the more I looked the more I felt that this was the place for us to stay." He shrugged.
"Hmm.."
"Why?"
"You called me Robby Roo." I recalled.
Zak frowned "Did I?"
I nodded "That was my dads nickname for me. But you knew it? How?"
He sat down stumped at that information, he scratched the stubble on his chin before shaking his head "I have no idea."
"Be honest..."
"I am." He replied instantly.
"No, I mean, be honest with me about this.. What I'm about to ask."
He nodded.
"Do you think they influenced you?
That someone influenced you to call me that? Or hire this place? It's happened twice now. Do we need a third to take notice? Or just all coincidence?" I asked."When something reminds me of my gran. I like to think it's a sign that she's watching over me." He replied making a small smile appear on my face.
"I wish I met your Gran." I spoke softly.
"She'd love you. Clip me around the ear for messing it up, 'She's a nice girl Zachery. Stop wasting your time with people who don't deserve it.'" He spoke wagging his finger.
"Your gran spoke sense."
"Yeah. Yeah she did." He smiled fondly.

"This room." I decided stepping inside it.
"Are you absolutely sure? I mean... You've got three rooms and you want this one first. Although I can't tell any difference."
