Chapter 5: Rin Uchiha [Shippuden]

So we actually end the Kage summit arc with this chapter and start off on the countdown arc for the War in the following chapter! 

I'm pretty sure all divided up their are only six or five arcs left :) 

Also, the poll winner will be revealed sometime when the team and such get back to the village, so it'll be happening very soon! :D

Sasuke

**vision**

At first I was panicked, Rin was going to die and something in me was screaming to stop it. To do something. To help her. Then the world began to fade, time slowed and the battlefield became hazy. I looked towards Rin but she was standing now, strangely still.

"Rin" I called and she turned, very slowly and I noticed it then. A dark silhouette standing behind her, holding her back.

"Help me" She whispered timidly.

"What is that?" I asked and she pressed her lips into a fine line.

"If he takes over he will destroy everything, he could hurt you" She tried to explain.

"Who is he?" I demanded and felt a chill down my spine. The silhouette hadn't moved but I could almost feel it looking at me.

"I'm impressed Rin, a projection I didn't immidiatly detect" He spoke, his voice raspy and chilling. I noticed the dark chakra circling them and it seemed to slowly posses more and more of Rin's body.

"I can't keep him back and get out of this alone" Her voice was panicked now. Her breathing quickened as the dark chakra crawled up her body, reaching for her head in long fingers of smoke.

"The Jubi" I realized.

"Let me out and I'll deal with Danzo" He offered but Rin shook her head.

"Don't trust him Sasuke"

"Don't trust her, she's only my vessel. She'll say anything to keep the upper hand" He went on.

"You of all people should know that, how many times has she betrayed you?" He spat. I knew he didn't want an answer because he already knew it was more than once but in that same respect I had done the same to Rin.

"Please Sasuke" Rin's voice was soft and desperate, pleading with me. I met her gaze and was slightly startled at the fear in them.

"Trust me" She pleaded. I stared at her as the dark chakra became denser around her. I could hear him laugh, he was winning.

"Leave her alone" I said suddenly and his laughter stopped.

"Excuse me?" He demanded and I ran forward, straight into the dark chakra and reached for her hand.

"I said leave her alone!"

**End vision**

The world came back so quickly it was dizzying. I looked down at my arms as the marks retreated. I had Rin's hand in a tight grip and glanced at Danzo who seemed startled that I had moved at all let alone so quickly.

"Leave her alone" I warned and my Susanoo reformed forcing him back as I lifted Rin into my arms before creating some distance. I knelt and set her on her knees.

"Are you okay?" I asked, watching as the marks retreated from her skin. She held her head between her hands, and I put a hand on her back. I noticed the black marks on her arms, like burns from dark chakra.
