•Sarah's Pov•

Nathan didn't let me answer him as he pulled the sleeve of my leather jacket in his hands and pushed us both into the Janitors closet.

"Sarah... W-we can't be friends anymore." His words caught me off guard. What was he saying? Why would he say that?

"No, Nathan. Please don't do this. We've been friends for years! W-was it something that I did to--" tears stung at the back of my eyes.

"It was nothing you did. I just don't want to be friends anymore." I reached out to him, only to have him pull back, not wanting my touch.

"Tell me why." I demanded. I was more confident on the outside than on the inside. I never thought I would loose Nathan. I've never planned to.

"I can't tell you that." He mumbled.

I stood in front of the janitors closet door. "Then I'm not letting you leave unless you tell me."

"I can't god dammit!" He bursted. My back hit the door with a small force. He sighed, trying to lower is anger. "I'm sorry." He spoke normally now.

He walked closer to me and placed both hands on either side of my head and leaned forward, closer to my ear. "I'm so sorry." I heard a sniffle come from him.

I stood there, not knowing at all what to do. "Why can't you tell me, Nathan?" I pulled his head from the crook of my neck so I could look at him.

His eyes were growing red around the edges and were slightly puffy. His nose and cheeks were stained with the almost dry tears that fell from his bright blue eyes.

"Because I don't want you getting hurt." He sniffed again, another tear dropping from his puffy eyes.

My thumb reached up to his cheek and wiped away the wet tear, letting it soak the dry patch of skin. "Why would I get hurt?"

"I don't know anything else except that." He looked into my eyes, his features showed that he was telling the truth but his eyes showed that he knew more than he's telling me. I decided to leave it alone.

I sighed and pulled him into a hug, not wanting to let go. "Please don't leave me." I whispered, still embraced in his hug.

"I'm sorry, Sarah." He finally released and kissed my forehead. He pulled away slightly, his arms wrapped tightly around my waist. He glanced at my lips for a second and slowly leaned in. Butterflies filled my stomach, and I leaned up to meet his lips. His arms immediately tightened around me; pulling me closer, while my hands found his soft black hair, tangling at the nape of his neck, and tugging softly. He groaned past my lips and pressed me harder against him. A light pressure was against my abdomen, and I blushed as the kiss continued.

He continued to leave soft kisses on my lips before it became more heated. The soft kisses turned into open mouthed, and my legs were draped around his waist within several minutes. His lips trailed down to my neck, leaving open mouthed kisses there. His hands trailed across my body before he suddenly stopped. He set me down gently, sighing before he began to speak. "Sarah.. I.. We can't do this." I saw as regret filled his features.

"Nat--" My voice broke, and tears filled my eyes.

"No, Sarah." He firmly said.

He slipped by me and left the janitors closet. I stood there, tears leaving my eyes.

***

I stormed down the hallway, heading to the entrance. There was no way that I would be able to face Nathan after this mornings events.

I successfully left the school without any attention from any of the staff. I had my Mother take me today so I didn't have my car. I began walking along the side walk to begin my long and cold journey back home.
