•Chapter 32•
"Katherine?" I slowly asked when we reached my room.
"Yes, love?" She closed my door behind her, sitting down on the bed next to me.
"Is it possible for someone to sneak into a patients room after hours?" I asked.
"No, not unless the patient was already informed." She replied, eyeing my every feature.
I nodded. "Okay, thank you." I mumbled when Jacob came into the room with my meal of salad and unidentified meat again.
"Here you go, Ms. Hastings." He placed the tray at my desk.
"Thank you, Jacob." I replied slowly.
He smiled at me before leaving me with Katherine again. "Why do you ask, Devin?" That was the first time she called me by my "name".
"I saw someone in here last night." I mumbled.
"I'll check the security cameras from last night, okay? Just to be sure..." She grabbed my hand. "Alright?"
I nodded, keeping my gaze on her gray eyes. She got up from the bed. "Have a nice night, Ms. Hastings. I'll let you know if anyone came in last night before you sleep." She smiled at me before I could say anything else, she closed the door.
I walked over to the same meal that I've had for the past 2 weeks. Hopefully my diet here will change at some point. I picked at the pieces of food again, waiting for him to return, but he never did.
Was it all just an hallucination? Was it a dream? It felt so real. Katherine entered the room after about thirty minutes of picking at my meal.
"Ms. Hastings? No one had entered your room last night, but you were talking to someone, it seemed like. Was there someone that you saw, or that you heard?" She asked.
"I saw him." I mumbled.
"Who did you see?" She urged.
"I don't want to talk about him. You wouldn't understand." My voice grew louder with each word spoken.
"Devin. It's alright. You can tell me." She tried once again.
"I don't want to talk about who it was! He ruined me!" I shouted.
Katherine looked shocked at my outburst. "I'm sorry Ms. Hastings." She mumbled.
"No, I'm sorry. I shouldn't have done that." My voice grew soft again.
"It's alright. I understand." She replied. She rubbed my shoulder before walking away, and out of the room.
So I was going insane.
I pushed the disguising meal away. I moved over to the bed, wrapping my self in the dull blue sheet that was used as a cover. I fell asleep to his voice going through my mind.

"Devin." I felt a grip on my arm shake me awake. Dimmed lights entered my vision when I opened them. Jacob was at my side. "It's time for your pill." He handed me the plastic cup. I pushed the pill into my mouth, doing the same action that I've done for the past two weeks.
"Thank you, Jacob." I mumbled.
"Your welcome, Ms. Hastings." He got up from the chair at my bedside.
"Jacob, wait." He turned around. "Can I go to the gaming room early today?" I asked.
"Sure." He handed me the stack of clothes. "Change and come out of your room, I'll escort you down myself." He instructed.
I nodded. I waited until the door closed to rid of the gown, changing into the white t-shirt that I was given and sweats. Black slippers were on top of the clothes when I was given them. I slipped them on. I ran my fingers though my hair, attempting to rid of the knots before walking out into the hallway.
"Let's go, Jacob." I whispered. He was at my side, taking my hand in his.
He lead me to one of the empty gaming rooms. I was handed a stack of cards. I opened the pack while I walked over to one of the tables in the back.
I spread out the cards on the table. I flipped over one card at a time. Noticing that one card was missing. Eight of Diamonds was missing. A flashback hit me when I was with Harry late at night.
*Flashback*
We arrived at the small party around midnight. I was rushed inside, at Harry's side. He greeted many others of his friends before me.
"Want a drink?" He said into my ear over the music.
I shook my head no. What makes him think I would want a drink if I'm 16?
"Alright. Suit yourself." He walked over to the bar, leaving me with a few of his friends.
"Welcome to Eight of Diamonds, Sarah." Harry mumbled into my ear when he returned.
*End of Flashback*
"Devin?" I shot my gaze toward Jacob.
"Yes?" I asked.
"You have a visitor." He walked toward the door, unlocking it, to reveal Nathan.
Nathan walked over to me. "Hello, Ms. Hastings." He hugged me lightly.
"Hi." I mumbled.
"I saw the footage, from two nights ago." He said. "I'm worried about you. Have you been taking your pill?" He asked.
I shook my head no. "Sarah." He groaned. "Do you want to get help?" I nodded. "Then take your medication. Please, for me?" He pleaded.
I nodded. "Want to play a game?" I asked.
"Sure. What are you thinking about playing?" He asked.
"Cards? I have a few stories to tell." I mumbled.

I was being brought back to my room, visiting hours were over. His voice rang through my ears once again. Once I reached my room I crawled into bed. His voice wouldn't leave, making it hard to sleep.
"Get out of my head!" I screamed.
The voices only grew louder as they entered my terrifying dreams.
