•Chapter 39•
We fled out to his car after all the phone number exchanges, between Katherine, Jacob and Harry. I stood there in silence. My cheeks grew heated when he glanced back at me for a second or two. I was finally with him again. Who knew that I would want to come back to the man that forced me to be with him in the first place? I never thought of it that way. Maybe I needed to stay with him so I wouldn't end up where I am.
"Devin, come on." He grabbed my hand. We were in the parking lot and by his car before I could notice.
I hugged his waist while he was still facing me. Teakwood filled my senses and the screams stopped. "Thank you, so much." I felt his hand press to my lower back.
He pulled out the pocket knife I put in the side of my jeans, that way he wouldn't see them. "Why do you have this?" He placed it in my hands.
"I don't know. I found it in my room, the first night I was there." Tears stung at the back of my eyes.
"Don't worry, it's okay. You're fine now." He pulled me back into his embrace. "I'm here now." He placed a soft kiss onto my forehead. "Let's go." He pulled me into the car and sped off without another word.

I awoke from the long drive in Harry's arms. My eyes slowly fluttered open as he set me down on the familiar bed that I haven't been in for the last 2 months.
"You fell asleep in the car, and I didn't mean to wake you." He whispered.
"Don't worry, it's fine." I looked around at his features. His eyes were a light jade. His curls were pushed back off his forehead. His lips were a deep shade of pink.
He nodded before backing away and sitting on the bed next to me. "It's good to have you back." He took my hand in his, running his thumb over my knuckles.
"I'm glad that I'm back." I found the pocket knife and the stack of cards in the pocket of my jacket, or his jacket I should say, and placed them on the nightstand.
"You took the cards?" He released my hand, taking the box of cards, taking them out of the cardboard-paper container. He spread out the cards in his hand. He faced them all down and pushed them toward me. "Pick a card." He mumbled.
I sat up, taking a card. "Don't show it to me." I looked at the card; Eight of Diamonds.
"Put the card back into the stack." He opened up the stack half way. I placed my card into stack.
He shuffled the cards before skimming through each of them. He pulled out a card and showed it to me. "Was this your card?" Eight of Diamonds was displayed.
I nodded. "Eight of Diamonds seems to be showing up a lot." I mumbled.
"That's because I was the missing card of the stack." He slowly came in closer to me, placing a kiss onto my forehead. "Get some sleep. It's late." He moved over to his side of the bed, pulling me closer into his chest.
"Thank you again Harry." I looked up at him.
"Your welcome." He leaned in closer, placing a kiss onto my lips before pulling away.
I drifted off to sleep, the screams finally gone. I was glad that they disappeared. Harry was my cure.
