I opened my fridge to see I only had mustard and a beer in my fridge.
I grabbed the mustard and stuck my fingers in it, before I tasted it.
I shrugged as I set it down and faced my sink, I turned on the water and slipped of my ring to make sure I got all the mustard off of it.
My fingers fumbled and I dropped the thing I cherish most into my sink.
I scrambled as I cut my hand up as I stuck it in the sink, I started to panic a little bit before I felt the gold band.
I sighed as I brought it back up to the land of the living, my shaky, bloody hand put the ring back on my left hand- where it belonged.
I sighed heavily as I closed my eyes, close call.
I laid around in my trailer that day, files and records and police data scattered everywhere.
Christmas was in just a few days and I couldn't even fathom how I'd get through this holiday without the one person who can get me through anything.
I sat on the ground, leaning against my cupboards.
I put one bullet into my revolver, I spun it around once, the bullet at random as I put it under my chin.
My hair fell in my face as I closed my eyes, I inhaled deeply before opening my eyes.
My eyes looked up at the sun, once they refocused she was in front of me.
Her eyes seemed worried as I felt her take my hand in her small one, she slowly sat the gun onto the wooden floors of my trailer.
"Don't you dare. You can't leave me." She spoke.
My chest sunk as she lightly smiled, "I miss you." I breathed.
"I'm here.." She whispered with her small, soft hand over my heart.
I looked down and put my hand over her hand, and I swear I felt her.
I closed my eyes and leaned my head back on the counter, I inhaled before my trailer door opened.
I opened my eyes to see Murtaugh walking in to see me broken down in yesterdays clothes, a gun by my side, police reports scattered and my hand messily wrapped while still bleeding.
He observed all the things I listed before sighing, "Riggs, I know you loved her-" "I keep thinking this is just a terrible dream and-and that I'll wake up and she'll be laying beside me." I stammered as I interrupted my partner.
"I miss my girl." I whispered as I looked up at him, my eyes begging for something he couldn't give me- her.
He sighed heavily before he glanced at my hand.
"What happened... Bar fight?" He nodded towards my bleeding hand.
"Uh, sink fight." I lightly smiled.
"But, you should see the sink. Actually, that's not true, the sinks fine." I rolled my eyes as he sat across from me.
"I'm listening." He pushed for more answers.
