M A R T I N

I tossed my keys on the table as I walked into my empty, hollow home.

I pushed my wet hair out of my face since I stood in the rain for a while today- watching my wife's casket being lowered into the ground.

I past a mirror and noticed how I looked like this house, hollow, empty.

I sighed loudly as I walked into the kitchen that was a mess, I opened the bottle of whiskey I drank half of last night.

I set a personal goal to try and finish this bottle by the end of the night.

"I know this sounds selfish," I heard Deja's faint voice as I opened the bottle, "but I don't care, because I want you around for another 80 years- at least." I closed my eyes as I saw her take the bottle of liquor from my hands.

I jumped at the sound of my phone ringing, I dropped the bottle onto the hardwood floors.

I cursed under my breath before I walked over and picked up my phone, I ignored the call from Roger.

I was supposed to go to dinner at their house but I couldn't face them for longer than a few minutes at a time.

I cleaned up the glass, slicing up my hands before I mopped where the liquor was.

Once I was done, I sat down in my house.

I played with the ring on my finger, listening to the clock tick away.

I inhaled sharply before standing to my feet, determined to make this pain
go away- even for a few minutes.

I woke up after being knocked out again- I noticed I was in a different place with a few random girls.

Heavy footsteps approached us before a bright light blinded me with my eyes adjusted to the dark.

It seemed like we were in some kind of basement, a man came down the steps after closing the door that lead down here.

"Morning, ladies!" The familiar man chirped as he turned on the lights.

All of us groaned.

That's when it hit me- it was Dennis from my old apartment building.

"Ah ha, I see our newest member has finally woken up. Good to see you awake, Deja." He said crouching down and I scrambled to keep away, although I couldn't go far with my hands and feet chained up to the ground.

"Woah, woah, girl." He chuckled.

"Ahh," He sighed, "It's really a shame you got caught in this mess. You are just so beautiful. But you got too close," He said waving his grimy fingers at me, "So we had our undercover agent lead you to your old pals humble abode." He smirked.

I pieced it together.

Dylan O'hara wasn't missing her sister- she set me up.
