"This next one.. Is for the title." Roger said getting low and all up in my face.

"For the respect! And for the bragging rights." "Save your breath, R, I got it." I sighed before he dribbled around me and did a lay-up.

He missed so I caught the rebound, he taunted me before I tried doing a lay-up and also missed.

"How'd you miss that?" He said grabbing the rebound.

He shot and it went right in, "Ahh! You heard that?" He yelled before he imitated a ball going in the net.

"Good game, Roger." I smiled.

He started doing his victory dance and I covered my eyes, "Ha-Ha! I got lucky on your miss." He said and I nodded, humming.

"In fact, a little too lucky. Did you let me win?" He asked as he panted.

"What? no." I scoffed.

"Oh come on, a blind man could've made that shot, with no arms, not facing the basket." He said and I rolled my eyes like the teenager I once was.

"Fine, I thought you were having another heart attack." I gave in.

"My heart is fine. No, no, it's broken because you threw the game." He said as the garage door started to open.

"I'm sorry." I said, "No, you're gonna be sorry when we have re-match." He said tossing me the ball.

"Roger!" Trish yelled at him, "You two need to get to work!" She hollered.

"It's alright baby, criminals don't get up this early." He said and I laughed before I made the first shot, I imitated the basketball net swishing before laughing.

"Gotta go, pops." I said checking my watch before hopping over their white picket fence, "Love you guys!" I yelled before I ran back home to shower before work.

"Where's Riggs? Does he ever show up for a meeting on time?" Avery asked as Murtaugh and I sat in his office.

"Roger, where is he?" He asked.

"What are you asking me for? I don't know where that man is. I don't know how old he is. I don't know why he tucks one pant leg into the boot and not the other. He doesn't tell me anything." Roger ranted.

Avery looked over at me as I couldn't quit smiling because Roger humored me, "I'll call him later, see if he picks up. It's not much different with me." I shrugged.

Roger scoffed, "Moving on, I wanted to show all three of you this," He said, "Put the two of you will have to do." He said walking towards his little home theater shindig, we followed him.

"A veteran robbed a jewelry store in Brentwood this morning after an interview went south. Names Chad Jackson. Left his résumé behind." Avery said showing us some security footage.

"Navy SEAL. Sniper." I skimmed through his résumé as Roger watched Chad put a security guard in a headlock, "I'm guessing he didn't get the job." Roger joked.

"Hair-trigger reactions. Oblivious to social norms. Playfully aggressive. Remind you of anyone?" I smiled over at Roger.

He scoffed as he slightly shook his head, "Inappropriate response to otherwise dangerous circumstances, unafraid of consequences." I continued.
