Dancing Away With My Heart

Chapter 17

I woke up and saw Alan sleeping peacefully next to me, I noticed I had a text message on my phone, It was from Jenna.

Jenna: Hey, Meet Emma and I at the coffee shop at 10:00.

It was already 9:00 so I only had an hour to get ready. I walked over to the closet and pulled out a shirt that was given to me while I was still in the hospital by a fan who had cancer that was in the room next to me. It said "Born To Be A Daner" on it and had my name across the top of the back. She asked me to give all the troupe members and pros one because she was such a big fan and took the time to draw them out and actually get them made.

After I got dressed I put my hair up into a tight bun and put on my everyday makeup. I left a note from Alan on the door then went to the car.

I arrived at the coffee shop at 9:45. I didn't mind being early, I just walked in the back to the reserved part for the dancers and found our usual table. I got on twitter and scrolled through my feed. I saw a tweet from Jenna posted last night that read "Awkward Times". I knew what she was talking about and I couldn't help but laugh. I walked to the counter and ordered my coffee and coffee for the others and a fruit bowl.

Emma and Jenna arrived at the same time.

"Hey" Emma said

"Hey" I say putting my phone in my pocket "I Ordered the coffee and a fruit bowl for us"

"Perfect" She says and sits down across from me next to Jenna.

"So.."Jenna says hiding her smile

"So.." I say trying to hide mine as well.

"Um..Am I missing something" Emma asked

"No" I say taking a sip of my coffee.

"Are you sure?"

"Yeah, Emma, It's nothing" I say

"Something really funny happened last night, that's it" Jenna says taking a bite of a strawberry.

"What?" Emma asked

"Well...Alan and I were on the couch and...well...we were...you know and then Jenna walked in on us" I answer.

"Oh My God!" Emma exclaims.

"Poor Alan couldn't even move, he just stood, frozen in time, and completely naked" Jenna says. the three of us laugh.

"What did you do, Dani?" Emma asks

"Tried to hide my face with a pillow" I say

"Just your face?"

"I didn't really care about my body being exposed, I cared about the fact that my friend just witnessed me in bed with my fiancé" I say

"That's how I know she's got a hickey on her boob" Jenna says and smiles.

"You've got to show me" Emma says. I tug my shirt down am just enough for her to see the purple skin.

"Does it hurt?" Jenna asked

"Not really, I just didn't know if I should have covered it up or left it alone" I say

"Jenna, What was going through your head when you walked in?" Emma asks

"Well, As soon and I walked in I heard a loud moan and they were both naked, so I just tried to cover my eyes" Jenna says with a smile.

"It was mortifying" I say "But hilarious". They both laughed.

"I think we should change the subject, Let's talks about the wedding" Emma says

"Yeah, Have you figured out the order yet?" Jenna asks

"Yes" I say " First, Jenna and Gene, Second, Emma and Sasha, Third, Elena and Keo, Fourth, Melani and Henry, and Last will be, Yasmin and Val"

"Sounds good" Jenna says " Are you excited?"

"Yeah, But, I'm nervous" I answer

"That's normal" Emma says

"I mean, I'm 18 and I'm planning a wedding. A wedding with a man I've been seeing for only a few weeks and have only known a few months, I mean I know he's the one, but, it seems so sudden" I say

"But does it feel right?" Jenna asks

"Of course it does. I love Alan with all my heart, I had always hoped we'd end up together" I say

"I think it's the right move" Jenna says. I knew it was probably extremely hard for her to say that, but I also knew she was being honest.

"So do I, I've seen how happy you make him and you make him equally as happy, Dani, It's meant to be" Emma says

"Yeah, Yeah I know" I say.

After spending am entire day at the mall, We finally decided to head home.  I dropped Emma and Jenna off at the coffee shop so they could drive back home in their own cars. When I arrived home, Alan was in the living room on the living room watching a movie.

"There she is, My beautiful bride to be" He says and kisses me.

"I've missed you" I say and nussle my head into his neck.

"Did you have fun today?" He asked

"I did" I say and shoot up off the couch "And, I got us something"

"Really? What?" He asked

"Well, You have me a promise ring before my accident and then you proposed and now I have my engagement ring, but, I've never given you anything to remind you of me, so tonight I saw a place where you can make custom army tag necklaces and I got one for you and for me" I say and hand him his army tag.

"Babe, I love it" He says.

"Yours says my name on it and our wedding date, and mine says your name and out wedding date" I say

"Now I'll always have you close to my heart" He says putting the necklace around his neck.

"And I'll always have you close to mine" I say putting my necklace around my neck.

"I can't wait until February, I can't wait to marry my best friend" He says and kisses me again. I nuzzle my head into his chest and lay beside him on the couch.

"February 16th, A day we will never forget" I say, He kisses the top of my head and we sit an the couch watching movies the whole night.
