*****2 Months Later*****

I was three months pregnant now. And I still hadn't developed a bump. I was lucky, I hadn't been sick at all. Today Alan and I had an appointment to go see Doctor Campbell for my three month checkup. Jenna was seven months pregnant and looked like she was ready to explode. She was still smaller than most women were at seven months though.

Alan and I drove to our appointment and sat in the waiting room to be called back

"I wonder if we can find out our gender" He asked. He hadn't let go of my hand since we got there. He didn't really like hospitals.

"I don't think I'm far enough to tell" I said.

"Yeah, But they have so much technology now you might be able too if you asked" He says.

"We can ask about it" I said.

"Danielle Bersten?" I heard my name being called. Alan I stood up and walked back. I got on the table and pulled my shirt back so he could put the gel on it. The gel was cold against my skin and the monitor spreading it out didn't make it any better.

"Do you see anything?" Alan asked excitedly.

"Yeah, Your baby is right here" He says and points to the screen. Alan's face lit up and tears formed in my eyes. I didn't think I was ever going to forget this moment.

"Can you-".

"That's odd" I was cut off by doctor Campbell.

"What?"

"Oh, Oh nothing" He says and turns the computer off. "I'm going to send in a nurse to get some blood samples from you".

"Okay". I said as he exits. A few minutes later a nurse walked in with a few containers.

After she took my blood she said that we needed to wait in here for doctor Campbell to come back.

"I wonder why they needed blood samples" I said.

"Probably just to be safe" Alan says reassuring me.

"Well I don't think anything could be wrong, I don't do anything bad" I say.

"Nothing is wrong, He just wants to be safe" Alan says. Doctor Campbell walks back into he room and stands up against the counter.

"Danielle, I have some things I need to ask you" He says.

"Okay, What?" I ask.

"Have you had your period in any month of this pregnancy?"

"The first one, But I thought that could  happen" I answer.

"It can, It can. I  only ask because we...we just learned something about you from your blood tests" He says.

"What?"

"Do any of the women in your family have any blood clotting problems, that you know off?"

"Not that I can recall" I answer.

"Doctor, What is this about?" Alan finally speaks up. He walks over to stand beside the table I was sitting on and grands my hand.

"Danielle, You have a blood clotting disorder that causes clots to form in your uterus and cervix" He answered. I felt my face get hot and the tears rush to my eyes.

"I-Is that going to hurt the baby?"

"This...This problem...Doesn't...It doesn't allow you to carry children to term" He gets out. Alan grips my hand tighter than he ever has. I hold back tears.
