Chapter 33

It was the middle of July. Jenna was due soon. We had no idea when, The doctor said since these were her first children she could go earlier or later. One night I called her to see if she was okay and she said she was so I went to sleep.

***4:30***

My phone rang. I looked at my clock. It was four o'clock in the morning. Jenna was on the other line of the phone.

Danielle: What is it?

Jenna: This is it.

Danielle: Oh My God, Okay, We'll be over in a second.

I hang up the phone and spring out of bed. I find leggings and a t shirt a throw them on.

"Alan" I yell. "Alan, Wake up". I began to shake him.

"What?!"

"Jenna's in labor" I say.

"Oh god, Okay" He jumps up and finds a t shirt and sweat pants to put on. He grabs the overnight bags, them we  rush next door. I walked into Jenna's house and saw her bent over holding onto the back of the chair.

"Are you okay?" I ask rushing over to her.

"Yeah, It's a contraction" She says.

"Okay, Alan has the car right out front. He went to wake up Sasha and Emma" I say. Emma and Sasha were going to wait to come down until after she had the babies, but I know since Emma knew she was in labor, she wasn't going to go back to sleep.

"Then let's go" She says. I help her out to the car and sit in the back with her.

"How many contractions have you had?" Alan asks.

"Three" She answers. "I woke up in terrible pain and I just instantly called you".

"You did the right thing" I say. As we pull into the parking lot of the hospital. I helped her inside while Alan parked the car. We went to the front desk.

"She needs to be admitted" I say.

"What's the problem?" A nurse asks.

"Do you not see this very large bump?" Jenna asks.

"Okay, Okay, Let's get a wheel chair and get you to a room" She says.

"When my husband comes in will you tell him the room number, His name is Alan Bersten" I say.

"Okay course" She said. We went up the the maternity ward and got a room, a few minutes later, Alan was up there with us. Jenna had gotten her epidural and now she was fine.

"I think we should call your parents" Alan says to me.

"It's early In Kentucky, You can call them" I say. He goes out in the hallway to call them.

"You're going to be a mommy soon" Jenna says rubbing her stomach.

"I-I can't believe they're a going to be mine" I say. It still seemed so unreal.

"They will be" She says.

"I want you in their lives just as much" I say. "I want you to be like a mother to them too".

"I'll be around" She says. The Doctor comes in. Doctor Campbell was her doctor too.

"You're completely dilated" He says.

"What next, then?" She asks.

"It's time to push" I answer for the doctor.

In the next few minutes the room is filled with nurses and two tiny little baby bed. Alan is on her right side and I'm on her left.

"Okay, Push" The doctor says. She pushed and squeezes my band tightly.

"Oh...My...God!" She yells.

"You're doing great" I say.

"Keep Pushing" Alan says.

"I see the baby's head, One more push" Doctor Campbell says. She pushed again and screamed. But, in the next moment we heard the beautiful sound of a newborn baby crying.

"It's a girl" The doctor says. Alan looks at me.

"A daughter" He says with bright eyes.

"One more baby to go" The doctor says. Alan couldn't keep his eyes off his newborn daughter that the nurses were checking out. Jenna screamed out in pain again.

"You can do it, Jenna" I say and squeeze her hand. She pushes one more time and rhen we hear baby cries again.

"Well, Well, You got the perfect package, It's a boy" Doctor Campbell says. Jenna was in too much pain to even realize what he was saying. Alan ran over to me and scooped me up in his arms.

"Hey, We have to take the baby's to take he room next door, Alan and Dani, come over there in a few minutes" He says. I guess because legally the mother now, they couldn't be around Jenna until Alan and I decided that.

"You did amazing" Alan says and kisses the top of Jenna's head.

"I just gave birth" She says still in shock.

"You did" I say.

"I'm wore out" She says.

"Get some rest, We'll bring them over when you're not so tired" Alan says.

"Thank you" She says. The moment she closed her eyes she was out. Alan ad I stepped in the hallway.

"W-We're parents" I say.

"Yeah, Now let's go see our son and daughter" He says. We walk into the next room and see Doctor Campbell.

"Look, There's Momma and Daddy" He says. He was holding the boy. "Who wants their son?"

"I-I do" I say. He hands him to me. as soon as I saw his beautiful little face, tears of joy rolled down my cheeks.

"Alright, Babygirl, Here's daddy" He hands the little girl to Alan. Then leaves.

"Hi, Sweet Girl, I'm your daddy snd you're my daughter" He says and kisses he cheek. She had a little bit of hair on her head. So did the boy, They were both brunettes.

"Baby boy, I'm momma, You're Going to have a few mommas in your life" I say referring to Jenna and Emma.

"Babe, Should we pick the names?" Alan asked.

"Well, You guessed that they would be girls, and I guessed boys. Since we got one of each why don't you pick the girls first name snd I'll

"Same names we were going to go with?" He asked.

"Yeah" I say.

"So this little girl is Addison Michelle" He says.

"And the baby boy is.." I say.

"Asher John"

"Addison Michelle Bersten and Asher John Bersten" I say. We picked 'Michelle' and 'John' as middle names because we wanted then to have a pice of Jenna. Michelle was her middle name and John was part of her last name. It was our way to honor her.

We spent hours and hours in that little room with our little Addison and Asher. We were so excited to be there parents and raise them. We could them wait to see what them the future holds for our little family.
