*Alison's POV*

Weeks have gone by and Jake and I have been growing a lot closer to each other. Everyday it was always go to school, hang with Jake, go home, and repeat the next day. I love hanging out with Jake he's like a big ball of energy and is very optimistic. He basically radiates happiness like a sun would radiate heat. His happiness is pretty much contagious because whenever he's happy, I'm happy. Every time I'm around him, you'll always see me smiling. Whenever I'm sad, he's always there to make me feel better. I've also noticed that he's been getting taller and more buff, which I found strange because Jake never mentioned that he worked out.

Right now, we're all at lunch just chatting amongst ourselves. I was talking to Jake until I felt someone tap my shoulder and I turned my head and mentally sighed to myself seeing that it was Mike.

"Oh hey Mike," I greeted half-heartedly. I think he likes me, but I don't understand why he does.

"Hey Ali, I've been meaning to ask you something," he said and I could be mistaken, but he sounded and looked apprehensive.

"What is it?" I questioned.

"Well I was wondering if you wanted to go to the movies with me tonight. I mean that's if you're available," he said. I hope he's not asking me out on a date. Thinking about it for a few minutes, I decided to be a nice person and accept his invitation.

"Yeah sure, I'm not doing anything," I shrugged. "Oh good, well there's this movie called "Love Spelled Backwards Is Love" I mean it's a a dumb title, but I heard it's a really good movie," Mike explained to me.

"Oh uh I don't know if I'm really in the mood for a romance movie," I grimaced, making Mike's face drop in disappointment and I immediately felt bad. Nice going Ali.

"Maybe we could all go to the movies as a group or something. There's this movie called "Face Punch" . It's supposed to be really good," Eric suggested and everyone, including Mike, nodded their heads in agreement.

***************

It was right now 7:30 and Jake, Mike, and I were waiting for everyone else to arrive. I felt a buzz coming from my pocket and I pulled it out seeing that it was a text from Jessica.

Hey, I just remembered that I have a huge test tomorrow in history that I have to study for. Hate to bail last minute. Have fun xx

I furrowed my eyebrows in confusion at the text. Jessica was in the same history class as me and I don't remember the teacher saying that we would have a test in the first place, so Jessica obviously lied. Whatever. I received another text, but this time it was from Eric.

Angela got the stomach flu, so I'm taking care of her. Sorry that we couldn't make it :(

I sighed and slid my phone back in my pocket. I glanced over at Jake and Mike seeing that they were standing away from each other and I could easily feel the tension coming from the both of them: it was so thick that a knife couldn't even cut through it.

"Well, turns out that Jessica bailed and Angela got the stomach flu, so Eric's taking care of her. Looks like it's just us three," I said and ran a hand through my hair.

"Oh that's alright! At least we're still able to see the movie," Jake smiled and I smiled in return while Mike mumbled a 'yeah' under his breath. We all walked inside and bought our tickets. Once we found a spot, we all sat down and looked up towards the screen. The lights dimmed down as the previews ended and the title showed up on the screen.

About 15 minutes in the movie, I saw from the corner of my eye that Mike let out a fake yawn and tried wrapping his arm around my shoulders. Ugh, give me a break. I subconsciously moved towards Jake and carefully leaned my head on his shoulder. I felt his arm wrap around my shoulders and butterflies immediately started to flutter violently in my stomach. Ah Jake is so warm I could stay like this all day. Wait, what the hell?! Ali, what's wrong with you? You shouldn't be thinking this!!
