*Alison's POV*
"Dad, did you wash my purple sweater?" I called out as I was rummaging through my closet.
"No, I haven't," he called from downstairs. I sighed and continued looking. That's weird, it was in here yesterday. I mean it's not like it grew legs and walked out. Ten minutes went by and I still didn't find it, so I gave up and decided to take a shower. After putting on a random shirt and skinny jeans, I went downstairs to the kitchen and grabbed an apple. I walked into the living room and plopped on the couch next to my dad.
"There happens to be a continuation of the serial killing going on in Seattle. Police have spotted five dead bodies in a lake in the Seattle public park and three more dead bodies were found in the dumpster right behind a local mall. Also, the case of the missing teen, Riley Biers, has not been solved. Police are still searching for the missing teen, but have found no sign of him. That's all for Washington news."
"Whoa, that's crazy," dad murmured as he shut the TV off.
"Yeah, I know," I agreed.
"Well, I guess I'd better head to work," dad said as he stood up from the couch.
"Okay, but be careful," I told him.
"I will and you do the same. See you later," he pressed a kiss to my head and headed out the door. I walked back to the kitchen and threw my now finished apple in the trash. I grabbed a water bottle from the fridge and immediately gulped it down. I heard the sound of knocking at the door and went to answer it. I opened the door to see Jake wearing a gray tank top that hugged his body perfectly, cut off shorts, and sneakers. A large grin spread across his face and enveloped me in a hug while spinning me around. I squealed as he planted a sloppy, yet adorable kiss on my cheek. He set me down and kissed me softly and sweetly. He pulled back and planted kisses all over my scarred cheek, making me giggle.
"Someone's happy to see me," I teased.
"Yes, very happy," he smiled and kissed my forehead. The smile Jake wore on his face immediately washed away and his body tensed. His eyes were narrowed as he scanned the room and had his jaw clenched. He suddenly charged upstairs and I followed him as he entered my room. My eyes followed his movements as he was pacing around the room, searching for something. I had no idea what he was looking for. His hands clenched into fists at his sides as he started breathing heavily.
"Jake, what's wrong?" I asked with worry in my voice. He looked at me with evident anger and disgust in his eyes, but I knew it wasn't directed towards me.
"A bloodsucker's been in here," he growled. I froze and looked at him with a look of horror.
"H-How do you know?" I questioned warily.
"I can smell it," he stated.
"Well, what do we do now?" I asked, panicking a little on the inside.
"We need to tell the rest of the pack right away," he said and with that said, he charged downstairs and out the door with me following. He stopped abruptly, making me bump into him.
"What're you doing here?" he seethed. I peeked around him and saw that it was Rosalie.
"Rosalie!" I beamed. Just as I was going to give her a hug, Jake quickly pushed me behind him protectively.
"I'm not going to hurt her, dog," she rolled her eyes.
"Like I'm supposed to believe that," Jake retorted with a snort.
"What're you doing here?" I asked curiously.
"Well, I was in the area hunting until I smelled something off and I'm not talking about the mutt," she wrinkled her nose in disgust. Jake stepped forward with a growl and I rested a hand on his chest to push him back.
"Yeah, Jake said a vampire came in my room. I'm not too sure when it came through," I shrugged.
"I'll make sure to let Carlisle and everyone else know," Rosalie said.
"No, we don't need help from you bloodsuckers," Jake snapped and Rosalie looked at him with a glare.
"We can handle it. We don't need mutts getting in our way," she sneered.
"I could care less what you need, blondie," Jake narrowed his eyes at her.
"Guys, now's not the time for this. Rosalie, me, Jake, and the rest of the pack will meet at your house," I said in a firm tone. Jake was about to protest but sighed defeatedly when I gave him a glare.
"Fine," he huffed. With that settled, Rosalie ran back to her house while me and Jake made our way to Emily's.
Uh-oh!! A vamp was in her room. That's kinda creepy, but anyways stay tuned for the next chapter :)
