*Alison's POV*
I woke up feeling very well rested. Memories of yesterday flashed in my head, making a blush creep up to my cheeks. I felt some type of strange gravitational pull that was pulling me towards him and I didn't know why. I couldn't help but think back to the look in Jake's eyes when we made eye contact. Could it have been.....love? Oh come on Ali don't be stupid. All I know is that it was something that I've never seen before:like a blind man staring at his beautiful wife for the first time. Could I be falling for Jake? NO, that can't be possible! I told myself that I wouldn't fall in love again. I refuse to be the victim once again. It would for sure ruin our friendship and I can't risk that. I shook away my negative thoughts and hopped in the shower. After my shower, I changed into my outfit for the day, which consisted of a white, fluffy sweater with a pair of ripped skinny jeans and my black vans. I headed downstairs to the kitchen and poured myself a bowl of cereal. After setting my dishes in the sink, I grabbed my bag and walked out the door. As I was walking to school, I noticed a familiar car driving up behind me from the corner of my eye.
"Ali!" My heart stuttered at the familiar voice and I stopped in my tracks and mentally sighed. Oh boy, here we go. I turned around and sure enough saw Jake behind the wheel in his red rabbit. He pulled up beside me and rolled down the passenger window.
"Hey Ali!" he greeted with his usual heart warming smile and I smiled back in greeting.
"Want a ride to school?" he asked.
"Oh, no thanks I'll just walk," I politely declined.
"Aw, come on Als. It'll be quicker if I took you," he insisted.
"No thank you, Jake," I said.
"Plleeaasseee," he pleaded and gave me the puppy dog eyes.
"Jake," I warned, starting to get a bit annoyed, but it immediately went away as he continued staring at me with those big, chocolate brown eyes.
"Oh fine," I sighed and reluctantly walked to the passenger's side and hopped in, which made Jake smile in victory. He pulled off and we were off to school. I furrowed my eyebrows in confusion when I noticed that we were going in the opposite direction of where the school was.
"Uh Jake, I thought the school was that way?" I asked, pointing in the other direction.
"Oh, it is," he stated with a smirk.
"Then why are we going this way?" I questioned.
"I was thinking that we could use a break from school and just hangout at my house for today," Jake said, which made my eyes grow big.
"You mean ditch school?!" I sputtered.
"Well......I wouldn't call it ditching. I'd say that we're just hanging out during school hours..?" he finished off as a question.
"Jake, I don't know if this is such a good idea. What if we get caught or what if my parents find out?! Won't your dad be home?" I rambled.
"Relax, Ali we won't get caught. My dad went out to get some food for the house, so we'll be fine," Jake assured me, but I just grumbled in protest and crossed my arms. After about 5 minutes of silence, we made it to his house and Jake parked the rabbit in the back. We both got out and walked into his garage, setting down my bag as we did so. Jake walked over to a motorcycle that was in the corner and rolled it out where he could have space to work on it.
"I hope you don't mind if I worked on this," he said sheepishly as he grabbed what looked like a screwdriver and began fiddling with a part on the motorcycle.
"Not at all," I smiled and watched in awe as he tinkered with the motorcycle parts. I internally shivered as I saw his back muscles ripple as he was twisting a couple of wires and I immediately blushed as I realized that I must've looked like a creepest. His broad shoulders and back was tightly clinging to his black v-neck as if they were trying to break free from the fabric that was restraing them. Gross, I sound like a creepest. He sure has some broad shoulders for a 17 year old. I was broken away from my thoughts as I heard Jake sigh.
"Is something wrong?" I questioned.
"I just...wanted to wait longer to tell you," he said so softly that I almost didn't hear him.
"Tell me what?" I asked. He paused from what he was doing and leaned against the motorcycle, being careful to not tip it over.
"It's something that werewolves do. It's supposed to be really rare, but apparently it isn't," he started. I cautiously nodded my head, encouraging him to continue.
"Imprinting is what it's called," he said, making me furrow my eyebrows at the foreign word.
"Do I want to know what that is?" I asked, with raised eyebrows and noticed a very faint, but noticeable blush appear across Jake's cheeks.
"Well, imprinting on someone is like a blind man seeing his wife for the first time. When a wolf makes eye contact with that certain girl, nothing else matters but her. It's not gravity that holds you to the earth, it's her. Suddenly you feel drawn to her and want to be with her everyday. She's like your other half and you'll need her like a person needs oxygen. You'll do whatever it takes to make her happy. You'd do anything or be anything she needs whether it's a friend, brother, protector, or lover," he said as he gazed intently into my eyes. Geez, that's some intense stuff.
"Whoa," I breathed out.
"Yeah," he chuckled nervously.
"Have you.....imprinted on someone?" I asked carefully. A small smile grazed his lips as he looked down at the floor, confirming my question. I ignored the slight pang of disappointment in my heart. What's there to be disappointed about Ali? It's not like you're falling for him....right? Besides, it's not like he'd ever like you, anyways.
"She's the most beautiful girl I've ever seen. I love pretty much everything about her: the way she blushes when she's embarassed, her long, lucious dark brown hair, her beautiful doe brown eyes, her soft, plump lips, her giggle, and most of all...her personality. I'm so lucky to have met someone as wonderful as her, especially when I'm hanging out with her right at this moment," he said as he stared at me with a look of awe. My eyes widened as I realized what he was saying.
"Y-You mean you imprinted on-"
"Yes, I imprinted on you, Ali," he finished and I couldn't help, but start blushing at this new information. I launched myself into his arms, which caught him by surprise, but he didn't hesitate to wrap his arms around my waist as I buried my head into his neck, inhaling his scent of cologne and pine needles. We slowly pulled away, but Jake kept his arms around my waist.
"So....where exactly does this leave us?" I asked.
"It's all up to you. I'll be whatever you want me to be," Jake said.
"As much as I would love to be in a relationship with you, my heart isn't exactly healed enough to be in a relationship, but I would like to take it slow if you don't mind. I understand if you don't agree with that-" Jake shut me up by gently pressing his finger against my lips.
"It's okay Ali I don't mind waiting," he said as he pulled me into him again for another hug and I gladly welcomed it as we slowly swayed from side to side. One thing crossed my mind later that day.......
Is this even a good idea?
Eh, this chapter was kind of meh for me. Tell me what you guys think xDD
