*Alison's POV*

I woke up to the penetrating sun rays shining obnoxiously in my eyes. With a groan, I sat up in bed and ran my hands over my face. I glanced at the clock to see that it was almost ten A.M. Well, I guess there's no point in going to school. Besides, only HE will be there. I felt myself fill with dread and disappointment as I thought about Jake's weird actions. I honestly don't know what it was that I did wrong. Am I making him unhappy? Was it because it has taken me a while to fully trust him to be in a relationship with him? All the possibilities were endless! I mentally cringed at my thoughts and trudged out of bed. Gosh, boys are so confusing! I went downstairs and was met with an empty kitchen and living room. Welp, it looks like I have the house to myself. I went ahead and made myself some bacon, toast, and eggs. After practically scarfing down my breakfast, I went back up to my room and changed into some lazy clothes.

As soon as I finished getting dress, I felt my phone vibrate in my hand

As soon as I finished getting dress, I felt my phone vibrate in my hand. I looked down at my phone to see that it was a text from Jake. My stomach started to churn unpleasantly.

Jake: Hey <3

I felt tears start to burn in my eyes, but I pushed them back. No, Ali,  he isn't worth your tears. I decided to watch a bit of TV in my room, so I plopped down on my bed and turned on the TV to watch Cupcake Wars. My phone vibrated again, indicating that I got another text from Jake. Not even bothering to see what the message said, I shut my phone off and slammed it down on my bedside table.

*Jake's POV*

Me: Hey <3

I sent the message roughly ten minutes ago. I didn't want to seem desperate and literally wait by the phone until she responded. There's the possibility that she could be sleeping, but I wasn't too sure. Another five minutes have gone by until I sent her another message.

Me: Are you doing anything later?

Ugh, why isn't she answering? Is she alright? Is she sick? Is she sleeping? Does she even have her phone with her? Geez, I sound like a clingy boyfriend. Mentally contemplating, I decided to give her call. I furrowed my eyebrows right when it went right to voicemail. Did she turn her phone off? I sighed as I shoved my phone back into my pocket. I sighed and ran my thumb over the silver key that sat in the palm of my hand. I'll just have to go over to her house. It's now or never.

*Alison's POV*

Roughly a couple hours have passed and I've still been in the same spot on my bed. I got up to apply a face mask on my face, the kind that you peel off and then you rub in the excess moisture into your skin, yeah those. I sighed in content as the cool mask made contact with my warm skin as I delicately set it on my face. I carefully walked back to my bed to lay on it and shut my eyes. Roughly ten minutes have gone by and just as I was starting to fall asleep, I heard the sound of knocking on the door downstairs. I glanced at the clock to see that it was roughly 2:30. Hm, wonder who that is. With curiosity, I got up from the bed and trudged down the stairs and into the living room. I walked up to the door and opened it to see Jake standing there in all of his handsome glory, making me almost gasp in surprise. Keyword, almost. I felt a blush grow on my cheeks as he saw my pitiful appearance: just imagine you being a guy and you see your girlfriend with a white sheet mask across her face, looking like a ghost and to add onto that, she's basically dressed like a bum. Gee, perfect timing, Jake!
