Espeon comes from a creature called a Bakeneko. A bakeneko is a "changed cat". Like Espeon they have split tails. In mythology, these shape shifters are known to speak human words, transform into humans, curse humans, possess humans, manipulate the dead, and join wolves to attack humans.
