Throughout the history of the Pokémon franchise there's been countless references, many of which have been to other anime. Down below are a few examples that can be found within the Generations.
• Generation I: RB & FRLG
In Pokémon Red/Blue and FireRed/LeafGreen, there's a reference to Mobile Fighter Gundam; as PokéManiac Ashton in Rock Tunnel says the following:
"Pokémon Fight! Ready, Go!"
This is remarkably similar to the declaration of fighters in Gundam: Gundam Fight! Ready, Go!
• Generation II: C
In the French versions of Pokémon Crystal, the Wise Trio in Ecruteak City are named Ken, Shui and Roah, who reference Fist of the North Star.
• Generation VI: XY
In Pokémon X and Y, there's a reference to Dragon Ball Z as a psychic named, Robert, on Route 10 says:
"Wow. You and your Pokémon's power levels are incredible! They're over 9000 for sure!"
