Everyone was staring. And when I say everyone, I literally mean every single student. Even the dumb kids who sit all the way in the back of the classroom. So much for trying not to attract attention.

I walked over to the teachers desk. She seemed nice. But then again, looks can't explain how someone feels. I would know.

"You must be Ava. Am I correct?" She gave me a genuine smile.

"Yeah."

"Its so great to have you in this class. Welcome to English. You can take a seat anywhere you'd like."

I decided to just sit in the back row. There was a seat in the corner that wasn't taken. I began to drift off into my own thoughts. I wonder how long I had to stay here. I wonder what I'd do after I graduated. Would I go anywhere? Would I go back to mom?

"Hey! Stop ignoring me!" I turned to my side to see a girl talking to me. She had blue eyes and black hair. She was smiling at me. I just turned my head away and chose not to reply to her.

"Do you always ignore people?"

She was starting to get annoying. I shouldn't have sat here.

"I'm Beverly. I mean like thats my name and all but I dont even like that name. I mean its not me, you know? I'm more of a Lily or Sam. Not Beverly. It just doesn't work for me."

I wanted to slap her. My hand almost touched her face. But then she quickly took my backpack and began searching in it.

"What the fuck? Let my bag go." This girl was messed up. How the hell was she going to just take my bag and start looking in it?

"Just calm down and wait.....FOUND IT!" She was holding my schedule. What was up with everyone wanting to see my schedule?

"You're Ava? Thats a nice name. And hey, you have lunch with me! We can sit together. This is perfect. Don't worry, I dont even sit with anyone. I'm kind of a loner in this school." She started chuckling.

"No." I took my schedule from her and put it back in my bag.

"Yes. Yes. Yes. Yes. I'll meet you in front of the lunch room."

This girl didn't know what no meant. And as many times as I said it, she would just ignore me and tell me that I have to meet her in front of the lunch room. People in this school were so fucking annoying.

----

By the time lunch came, I was exhausted. I got confused looks from everyone as I stood in front of the lunch room waiting for fucking Beverly who was taking forever. People were probably wondering if i'm the new girl. Apparently not many new students came to this school, so when one did, everyone went crazy. But people knew I wasn't the social type because whenever they tried to start a conversation with me, I would either ignore them or walk away. Thats just how I was. I wasn't interested in talking to anyone. I didn't want to be close to anyone. I had to take care of myself the best I could. I was alone.

"Oh my God I am so sorry i'm late! That bitch, Summer, wouldn't let me go through. Can you believe she got mad at me because I accidentally stepped on her new shoes? She's so pathetic. Oh and since you're probably wondering who Summer is, lets go sit down and i'll tell you."

Did she ever shut up? I decided its best not to argue or else she would keep talking and right now her voice was hurting my head so I decided to just follow her into the cafeteria. I didn't feel like eating. So I just sat there while she ate her salad.

"So why aren't you eating, Ava? Did you forget to bring money? Should I buy you anything?"

Why did people assume things? Why couldn't she just be quiet and eat her food without asking me questions? She was pissing me off so much.
