"She's such a deep sleeper." I heard someone speak. "I bet if the house was on fire, she'd be so oblivious to it even happening."
"She had a tough night, leave her alone." That was definitely Jai's voice.
"No, seriously, wake her up. What if she's dead?" I heard another voice right next to me.
I rubbed my eyes and opened them. The sunlight hit my eyes and I turned away. I saw Jai standing near the door of the room and I instantly remembered everything that happened last night. James was standing right next to me and I slapped his shoulder with enough force for him to fall down. "That's for thinking I was dead." I said.
James rubbed his shoulder while everyone else in the room began laughing. "That wasn't me!" He protested. "That was Luke!"
Luke glared at James and ran away from the room. Were people that scared of me?
Beau smiled at me. "Are you hungry? How are you feeling now? What happened last night?"
I sighed and rubbed my head. "What's with all the questions?" I tried sitting up but I felt a pang in my stomach so I quickly lied back down. "I need to get back home." My dad was probably super mad, along with Rachel.
"You guys go downstairs and eat breakfast." Jai told Beau, James, and Daniel. "I'll be down in a little bit. I need to talk to Ava first."
They nodded and left the room. I honestly didn't feel like talking to Jai either. He should've left too. All I wanted to do was go home. The only problem in that was that I didn't know where my "home" was anymore.
He sat on the chair next to the bed. "Okay, now you can explain what happened last night. Don't you dare try hiding anything from me because I promise you that I'll find out." He looked at me. "I already know it was Ricky who did this to you. What I wanna know is why you decided to go even after you promised me that you'd go with me."
I tried sitting again despite the terrible pain I felt in my stomach. After finally sitting down, I leaned my head against the headboard. What was I supposed to tell him? "It's honestly none of your business. Besides, this doesn't even have anything to do with you."
"It doesn't have anything to do with you either."
"It actually does. My mom took his money and I'm the one that needs to return it since she got herself in jail."
He looked away. He seemed to be thinking about something. The room was quiet for about five minutes. The silence wasn't awkward, it was actually a little comforting. "Why did he hurt you after you gave him the $3000 back?"
I shrugged. "I'm not sure."
He shook his head. "You're hiding something from me. Damn it, Ava, just tell me what happened last night."
This made something in me snap. "Why do you care?! Why does it matter what happened? Honestly, you're so annoying when you pretend to care. Just stop. Seriously, just stop!"
"Pretend?" Now he looked furious. "You think I'm pretending to care?! Wow, I honestly didn't think anyone could be as blind as you. Why would I even let you into my house if I only pretended to care? You probably don't know this, but I NEVER let anyone stay over at my place and I most definitely don't let anyone sleep on my bed. Sometimes you piss me off so much! When Ricky or some other bastard ends up killing you, I'm not gonna say anything. You don't want me to care, right? Well today's your lucky day Ava, because I'm done caring about you. There's literally nothing I can do to make you understand how much I care. I'm done. Literally I'm so done." He got up and left the room.
I got off the bed and grabbed my cellphone along with the keys. I hated Jai more than anything. I quietly walked out of the room and heard Luke arguing with Jai about something. I couldn't really hear what they were talking about and I didn't care either. I left the house silently and drove all the way home.
