Pain. Pain all throughout my body. My body wouldn't move. I tried moving my arm, my leg, anything, but nothing happened. I could hear people talking near me but I didn't know who they were.
"Is she okay?" One voice asked.
"Clearly not, are you fucking stupid?" I recognized that voice. That voice was all i've been hearing for the past couple of days. My eyes shot open, and my eyesight began to blur a little. I tried focusing on the people near me, but it was difficult.
"Ava don't open your eyes. Rest." He said.
I tried closing my eyes but I was tired. I was tired of being in the dark. I wanted to open my eyes, I couldn't stand this anymore. I attempted to open my eyes again, and after some seconds of torture and pain, they finally opened. I looked around to see where I was. Was I at dad's place? How did I get here? I could barely remember what happened last night, but I remembered going back home. I looked at Jai sitting near my bed and saw my dad standing near him. What was going on?
"Are you okay, Ava?" Dad asked. He tried to check if I had a fever, but Jai slapped his hand away.
"Don't touch her." Jai warned my dad.
"She's my daughter. Whats wrong with you anyway? Who are you?"
"It doesn't matter. And you sure as hell don't treat her like a daughter. You just let her wander off anywhere. Did you even notice she was gone the whole day yesterday? Did your wife notice? Did you guys try to find out if she was even alive or dead?"
My dad remained silent. The guilt was written all over his face. I didn't care. I wasn't going to let him feel sorry for me.
"Its fine, dad. I'm able to take care of myself. Don't need you or your slut to watch over me." I sat up on the bed.
"What did you just say?" My dad looked pissed. Good. This is what I wanted.
"You heard what I said. Now get out, I don't want to talk to you." I signaled him towards the door.
"This is my house." His face was going red, I was quite sure he was gonna slap me anytime soon, I wouldn't be so shocked, people enjoyed hitting me.
"It doesn't fucking matter if its your house, just get the fuck out!" I screamed.
I think he got my point because he finally left. I began to feel a lot better, I couldn't stand looking at his face. It didn't matter if he was my father. He sure as hell didn't know how to act like one.
I looked up to see that Jai was still sitting. As glad as I was that he decided to defend me, I didn't need him here either. "Get out."
"Ava shut up."
Well I wasn't expecting that.
"No. No. I wont shut up. I'll talk all I want. And right now you're making my eyes hurt from your ugliness so please fucking leave."
He began to laugh. I never heard him laugh before. His laugh lightened up the whole room and for a moment I forgot about all the pain that I was in.
"You're calling me ugly? Ava, have you looked at me? I'm fucking perfect." He smirked.
I just decided to turn away from him, because if I kept looking I'd end up agreeing with his statement. And that wasn't something I wanted to do.
"What happened last night?" I asked.
"I'm not answering until you tell me if you seriously think I'm ugly or not."
"Jai stop being an ass and just tell me."
