Highlight of today.
After I read a project that I had written in Honors English II, Mrs. Plum said to the class (most of who were still giggling about a Justin Bieber joke that I included in the project) "That is what we aspire too." I accepted the compliment humorously and took a joking bow in my seat. As Mrs. Plum went on to explain to the class what made my project better then theirs... I felt a strong sensation of guilt, I felt bad because Mrs. Plum just put down allot of kids, who I'm sure now though their work and effort had been wasted.
I don't think I've ever given myself a compliment in public, except for in a joking manner. It's not that I don't think there is anything to gloat about, in fact you might find the truth to be quite the opposite, I would just rather other people tell me "Aiden, your good at maths" or "Wow, you've made progress".
After lunch I have IPC (integrated physics and chemistry). Mrs. Ritti showed up to unlock her classroom and the crowd of students that has gathered in-front of her door now swarmed in, I took a step back so I wouldn't be swallowed into the classroom with the rest of the students. I heard someone calling my name, but only after turning my head in the direction of the sound, did I realize it was Mrs. Demps . I walked up to her expecting her to tell me that we have computer science tonight, but instead she asked "Is Mary Jane in this class too?" I knew then that this was too discuss CX (debate) and my heart sank a bit. "Yes, she's in this class. I'll go see if she's already inside." I was trying to fool myself, I would have noticed if she had been part of the crowd that was early... I don't know why, some people your just aware of if their close-by. She wasn't their and I reported back too Mrs. Demps, who was standing out in the hallway. Me and Mrs. Demps made small talk... Nothing interesting was said. Mary Jane nearly walked right past us. She was wearing a bright smile that made it clear for all to see that throught her eyes, the world was a better place. Reality sucks. Mrs. Demps asked Mary Jane if she was going to be able to get out of cross-country for the debate converince on Thursday. Mrs. Demps said she had to confirm that we were going with the people in Lubbock today. I didn't know that Mary Jane had cross-country on the same day as the debate thing, and I was really worried she wouldn't be able to come to the debate thing, because I've been looking forward too it ever since Mrs. Demps initially extended the invetation, and if Mary Jane couldn't go... I wouldn't be able to either, it would be pointless to drive 200 miles for half of a team briefing. Mary Jane told Mrs. Demps she doesn't know if her coach would let her go. Mrs. Demps asked Mary Jane who her coach was and after Mary Jane told Mrs. Demps her coachs' name (which I can't remember) Mrs. Demps nodded thoughtfully saring off into space. After a while of nodding and staring, Mrs. Demps said "Okay, I'll take care of it". The simplicity of the tone of voice Mrs. Demps often speaks in is so self assured and confermative that if she told you the sky was purple, you'd have too look up before you would be sure she was mistaken, and this was no different. Mrs. Demps said she'd take care of it. It would be taken care of. As we walked into class, we were greated by Mrs. Ritti's voice, asking "Why are you two late?" Mary Jane started on a reply... "Well..." she said, with great emphasis on the 'e' and a thoroughly streched out 'll' sound, but she was interrupted by Mrs. Ritti saying "ohhhh... Mrs. Demps ... She told m..me... " She then smilingly gestured us to go sit down.
