I have just finished writing an English paper over a controversial topic of my choosing about twenty minutes ago. I got in bed and bought some skype credit so that I can peruse my two ongoing international ventures while I'm already up at midnight.
The first I will work on tonight is trying to find whatever information I can about my dad from one of his old high school principals. I hope he can be useful.
The second, I'm not very hopeful about anymore, most people I contacted about it seemed very optimistic initially but never contact me back. I'll post the email proposal that I send to schools after calling them to see if they are interested.
The only reason today was noteworthy to me was the overwhelming amount of congratulations I received today for being named Spot Light Student in one of the surrounding newspapers.
The praise hurts as much as it inflates my ego. I know that the answers I gave to the questions are truthful, but I also know that they were very much engineered to please the judge who would choose the spotlight student. So every pat on the back is a reminder of my self serving manipulation of language. The spotlight student can more accurately be described as a character I created then it can as myself.
