TRISH
Alex approached me and said, "I need your advice Trish"
Alexandra G. Bonner is my chem lab partner and she's in my art class too. We're really good friends since I got here.
I tilted my head to face her. "Oh? What advice?"
"See, I don't have anyone to tell this to and the principal is not a good choice"
"Come on spill it"
She smiled and sank down on the chair beside me.
"I have a huge love problem" She said, "You see, I have a best friend since first year high school. At first, I didn't even notice him umm like we always fight when we're together. He plays tricks with me and all. We're always having fun"
"So what's the problem?"
"One day, I started to feel this crazy love thing. I fell in love with him"
"And then?"
"He's not that handsome and sexy but I just fell in love with him instantly. I don't know how to stop it because I can't just avoid him right? He's always sweet to me and it hurts so much. It's like killing me every time he's beside me."
"Maybe you should talk to him, Alex"
"I can't tell him because it would ruin our friendship and I don't want that to happen."
"What if he's in love with you too and you just don't know because you didn't talk to him?"
"It's not possible Trish. He has a girlfriend and that's the second reason why I can't tell him"
"Awww that's hard"
"Yeah"
"You still need to talk to him, Alex."
"I'll try. Thanks anyway"
I nodded and she went back to her seat to finish her project.
A lot of girls are asking me for advice but I myself can't even solve my own problem. The bell rang. Classes ended so soon I didn't even notice the time. I was spacing out the whole day thinking of Aiden. Why is he avoiding me?
Three sleepless nights have gone by. Three nights full of identical nightmares. Since Aiden was avoiding me, he didn't sleep in my room too. I didn't have the urge to complain of course. He's not my boyfriend, he's my cousin.
"Ms. Monroe can I talk to you for a minute?" Ms. James asked me while I was compiling my sketches.
"Yes?" I said walking closer.
"You're really doing well at my subject. You sketch these wonderful images and well no student impressed me the way you did, Ms. Monroe"
"Uh Thanks"
"So I would like you to joint the art club okay?"
"I don't think so"
"Don't waste your talent, Trish. Think about it okay?"
I nodded.
I went straight to my locker. I got my bag and went to the cafeteria to meet Corry and Jessica. Kate has a cheer dance practice today and Annabelle has a date so it's just the three of us this afternoon.
"So what's the plan?" I asked Corry who was sitting at the table curiously.
"Just gonna hang out at the field"
"What? Can't we just go to the mall or something?"
"Why is there a problem?" Jessica asked
"Umm Aiden and I are not really okay"
"Oh I didn't know cousins have LQs"
"It's not a lovers quarrel. He's just avoiding me and I don't even know why"
"That's weird he's been telling guys to back off and he's backing off too? Woah" Corry said
"Wh-what? He's been what?"
"He's been telling guys to back off or else he'll beat the shit out of them"
"Are you serious"
"You don't know?"
"Umm duh. He even gave me a warning look at the pizza parlor"
"Aren't you even curious? You're the hottest girl in the school and not a single guy is asking you out?" Jessica protested
"Nope"
"Hell you need some brain meds"
"Guess so"
We went to the field and sat under the oak tree. Jessica was doing her homework while Corry and I talked about boys. I can see the football team practicing from here. I saw Aiden a while ago but he didn't look back. He never glanced at me once even though he knew I was here.
"Stop that Trish. You're trying to melt him" Corry said tapping at my shoulders
"W-what? Stop what?" I asked trying to look innocent.
"Staring at him" He retorted pointing at Aiden
Ooops he knows
"Oh please" he sat closer to me and said "I know Trish. Trust me, I know" Corry said
"What are you talking about?" I still pretended that I didn't know.
Corry gave me a disappointed look and said, "You're in love with your cousin and he's in love with you too"
