Chapter Twenty-One

Flashback

It's our fourth game for this season and also our fourth win. When I was drinking my water before the game started, I noticed a girl gazing at me. Though a lot of other girls were also staring, she stood out from the rest. She's different.

I searched for her but I couldn't find her. I didn't know her name. And that time, I told myself that if it's meant to be, I will find her someday. I don't know when or how but my hopes are high.

The night of the movie theater came. Girls were chasing me so my friend, Aly, helped me escape. She pretended to be me and I got out safe. I was eating my burger when I noticed a girl sitting at the bench.

She's the one. She's the girl I saw. I sat beside her hesitantly thinking what should I say to start the conversation right. I was supposed to talk to her but she was on the phone with someone.

"Where are you? I'm hungry come on" She glanced at the me and my burger.

"Kate, let's just eat okay? You'll not find Jb there. Trust me I'm so damn hungry"

When I heard my name, a smile tugged on the corner of my lips but she couldn't notice that. She ended the call and so I offered her my burger. "Want some?" She was stunned for a moment. She was so amazed she couldn't speak.

She shook her head but her tummy grumbled. She was so cute.

I smirked and said, "Come on there's no poison trust me"

She reached for the burger and took a bite. She looked embarrassed but for me, I was thankful.

"It's yours don't worry"

"Thanks. I'm really sorry for taking your food though"

"No problem" I grinned.

A girl went outside looking for her. She ran towards the her and got her arm rushing. "Come on! Someone told me Jb's at the bowling alley"

She sighed. Without a word, the girl pulled her.

"Thank you again!" She shouted at me and waved goodbye.

I was grinning but then I realized that I forgot to ask her name. Damn, her name. I wish I'll see her again.

And my wish came true. I saw her at the basketball court but it didn't go well. She was really angry because the ball hit her. It wasn't my fault and it's an accident. She was so angry so she walked out.

Friday came and the school was buzzing again when I came in. Thankfully, Aly, Ayie and Jacob were already at the entrance door waiting for me so they could protect me from girls. Hard life.

"What's up with you? You're acting weird lately" Ayie asked.

"I'm in love" I said.

"In love? You? With who?" Aly retorted.

"Don't tell me it's a boy" Jacob said.

"No of course not. It's a girl"

"Oh where did you meet her?" Aly asked.

"It's really complicated. I don't even know her name" but I know her school. So after class, I drove to West Mount High school and looked for her. The students were stunned when they saw me. To

my surprise, the girl I was looking for is very popular. Trish Monroe.

I made this huge banner and bought her some cake for peace offering. And then she arrived and saw me. Shocked, she walked closer to me. I felt butterflies in my stomach again. It's killing me. She's killing me.
